Rainy and Cold??? Should I reschedule?

I just checked the weather for my trip next week and it looks awful! High 60s in the day and raining for most of the week.

Should I reschedule??? This trip is costing me so much; I would hate to throw it away on cold rainy days! I have little ones and I wouldn't want them to be out in that kind of weather. But is this normal? Is it accurate?

I'm so sad and so confused. I just want to cry.

I would not cancel because of the weather. It rained a wee bit when I was there in early March, but nothing too bad. I would bring warm clothes and rain jackets and you'll be fine. The park is still open and most things are running, people still have fun. As long as you are prepared and dress accordingly, you'll be fine and have a GREAT time :thumbsup2

I'm still skeptical that it will rain.

But given that the weather is calling for showers, if it does, I would expect it to be more of a fine mist or a light drizzle rather than a strong pounding downpour.

Rain thins the crowds at DLR so we love to go in the rain! If you dress right you should be fine. Remember also that CA weather changes all the time and what might look like a crummy weather a week out might turn out to be a beautiful week. Rarely do we get bad downpours and if we do they rarely last, and are even less common in spring.

Any rain means you would be all bundled up in rain gear and riding rides with short lines. When it rains people leave even though there are shows and rides like Snow White and Star Tours that are indoors, lol.

Plan for warm weather and for weather in the evening as low as the 40's. Pack rain gear and hope it rains just enough to scare off the crowds but not make the stay unbearable which seldom happens.

Its CA. It rarely get that bad here. If it sprinkles the park clears out quick... I'd stick it out...

Anaheim weather predictions are sometimes somewhat unreliable. Weather can change fairly quickly there so what is supposed to be a rainy day could end up just being cloudy. Last summer we saw that it was supposed to be 90 degrees and we thought that would be quite warm. The night before we went in the park the prediction was 91, but it ended up reaching 101. My point is, just because it says it will rain doesn't mean it will. And as others have said, it's not likely at all that it'll rain all day if it does rain. When it was 101 we made it through the day just fine because so much of the attractions are indoors, which is a fact that will help you as well if it rains.

These are my thoughts exactly. It really doesn't rain much around here so I won't believe it until I see it. We're going to be there Monday and Tuesday and I'm actually hoping for just a little bit of drizzle (not too much, just enough to scare a few people away but not enough to inconvenience me. :rotfl:) Bring a few ponchos just in case but I'm really not expecting it to rain or if it does I think it will just be a light drizzle for short periods of time.

I hope you guys are right! With a 1 year old and a 4 year old, it's hard to keep them bundled and having fun (and makes for terrible pictures!) so I hope it's just a little rain. I'll keep an eye on the weather.

Thanks! I hope it's beautiful. We just need some nice warm, sunny weather!

My personal experience of theme parks (and Disney parks especially) is that (as mentioned by other people), they tend to empty out a bit when the rain arrives.

If you dress properly, then the rain isn't much of an inconvenience at all - just wear some kind of a light weight raincoat or poncho and you should be fine and may actually get more done than if the weather was sunny due to the shorter queues.

Kids love the rain! Have you taught them how to jump in mudpuddles yet? (You have to do it early or they learn it all on their own!)

Rainy times are an ideal time to go to Disney. The lines are MUCH shorter. Trust me, (unless you make a big deal out of it), kids would much rather be in the rain than wait in a line.

Just bring some ponchos and enjoy!

weather sounds like New England.....wait it out and it may very well change...you can only hope.

i would never rely on a weather forecast for anything.

have fun

I was looking at the weather for our trip next week and it says the same thing. We're going to be there the 10th and 11th.

Don't worry! I doubt it will rain, if it does it will be a sprinkle. I really love DLR when the weather requires a light jacket during the day, so I'm looking forward to it.

I'm trying to hear you all and be optimistic about the rain...I really don't mind it too much normally. It just stinks that it is going to be rainy and cold when this trip was largely about getting away from the cold! (we're in Chicago)

I also am worried because though my 4 year old will probably love being in the rain, the 1 year old will be a mess and very hard to deal with in that kind of weather.

Anyway, I'm hoping it doesn't rain. I don't think I can reschedule at this point anyway. So I guess it's time to go buy some "super special raincoats and galoshes"!

In all of our trips to DL last time was the first time it has really rained while we were there. Luckily this time we were without the kiddos. Honestly to us it was more miserable than it was enjoyable. Yes, the crowds were lighter so that was good. But we were wet, and it was cold. I couldn't even imagine doing it with our little ones, we probably would have just stayed in the hotel.

If it were me and I could just reschedule our trip, I would.

The day before the trip you can check Santa Barbara weather as they tend to get storms first. Right now there are lots of moist clouds off the coast to the northwest. They may die out over the ocean or hit land and miss Disneyland. I have been in monsoons while a few miles away is sunny weather. California can be so unpredictible and I like that about her.:lmao::thumbsup2

I just wanted to reassure you again about the weather. Right now weather.com is saying 30% chance of shower on mon and tues and 60% on wed. which aren't that high of percentages. Accuweather only mentions a possible shower for friday. As you can see, they can't even agree. And they aren't even calling it rain, they're saying it's "chance of shower". Obviously we do sometimes have big rain storms down here but honestly from what the forecasts are saying so far, this doesn't seem like it will be any big deal. And I don't think you will find the weather to be that cold either. Usually people coming from really cold areas think it is warm, even in the 60s. And if the sun is out, which it looks like it will be for most of the week, it is generally warmer in the parks than in the "real world". So come prepared for rain and keep checking the forecasts as they can change daily but really, don't worry too much about it. The rain we get here is usually not that bad, especially this time of year. Don't worry, you'll have a great vacation! :goodvibes

Just checked and now it says partly sunny all week except a chance of a shower on monday. A chance? lol probably wont happen or just sprinkle! Then friday has a shower and cloudy. It'll be fine. Enjoy your trip!!
