Raining on the Party

What if it rains during the Halloween Party? (I know October often gets a lot of rain in Anaheim.) Do they still do the fireworks? Does the party go on?

Absolutely! We were at the party 2 years ago when it rained/poured all night. The party was great! The crowds were low, CMs moved the treat trails to covered areas (and were way more generous than they usually are about candy), the fireworks did go off (at that point the rainfall was light/moderate -- heavy rain probably stops the show), and everyone was laughing and dripping together. It was one of the most memorable parties we've done!

We were also at a very wet party 2 years ago, there were some decorations that were not set up & all the treat stations were under cover, but every thing else went on as planned the weather even cleared a bit during the night so that the 2 parades & fireworks still went ahead, I think it made it extra spooky :)

We were also at the party 2 yrs ago when it rained. We purchased ponchos at the World of Disney Store and did NOT let the weather dampen our spirits (although I violently wished I was wearing a pair of wellies instead of sneakers that night). As a pp said, the rain kept the crowds down. We walked on to POC 3x in a row. Remember walking onto SM ("Ghost Galaxy"). I loved how the weather added not only to the Halloween atmosphere but to the feeling of autumn. Despite the wet, DH and I agreed we had a better time in '10 than we did last year. Fortunately, things cleared enough for the Halloween Screams fireworks to still go on.

My advice, if it happens to rain at the party or any time you're ever at the park, is to GO WITH IT. Don't let it scare you away or ruin your time. Rain can be awesome because it lessens the crowds. Enjoy the experience of it.

One thing we have observed though is that if you have a rainy day (or a few), there seems to be an uptick in attendance on the next nice day due to pent up demand from guests (locals) who put off going due to bad weather.

Thanks for the replies! I love a good rainy day at Disneyland every once in a while, but when I pay extra for the party, I really want to see those fireworks. :thumbsup2 I seem to have always missed the regular fireworks the last few years to wind and once rain, so I didnt know if a little rain or wind shuts down the Halloween show too.
