Hi. We plan on getting a length of cruise pass for the spa. Is the spa pass the same as the Rainforest pass? I want to use the amenities in the spa but dont want to ask for the wrong thing lol

Thank so much.

I'm not familiar with the "spa pass", but the Rainforest pass will get you into the locker rooms, the four scented showers, the three different types of saunas, the heated lounge chairs, and the 1-2 person hot tubs.

The only things I can think of that aren't included would be massages, mani/pedi/facials, hair styling and any associated "product".

Of course, everyone has complimentary access to the fitness room.

Yes, same thing....You can get day passes to the Rainforest Room , or length-of-cruise passes. The day passes, you can buy ahead of time under Onboard Shopping tab on DCL site. The length-of-cruise passes are only available once on board. Daily passes are $16 each and you can buy as many as you wish. Length-of-cruise pricing will depend, of course, on the length of your cruise

I think they might have a couples length of stay pass that is a little bit of a bargain.

Also, The locker rooms w/ showers are complimentary to use (adults only). On the Dream and Fantasy there is a small sauna room in the locker rooms.

From experience and reading here, I'm not 100% sure that's true. Because our couples Rainforest pass for the 4 night cruise was the same cost I'd read of it being on longer cruises on Fantasy.

We did not get our money's worth that time, that's for sure. It came with scrubs but they didn't tell us that until the second or so time we had been there. And then I HATED the scrubs; they have oil in them and they made me empathize with sealife that is cause in crude oil spills (and then put into a steam room). I couldn't regulate my body temperature at all. I am normally a person that likes to stay in a steam room or sauna for a LONG time, and I could barely make it a few minutes with that stuff on me. And I was miserable.

We had it worked out how often we had to go to get our money's worth, and we didn't hit that mark and it wasn't very pleasant.

So...beware! Gotta make the time for it,which can be hard if you're on a cruise with kids or an adult that has different interests. And I hope you don't have the same reaction to the scrubs if you buy the package that includes them.

Thank you all so much. We are having a girls trip leaving family at home and just my mom and I sailing. We are trying to avoid the kids as much as we can (love them have them and my mom is a grandmother) and figured we will be spending time each day in the spa. Plus, this is my Mothhers Day gift to my mom lol.

Thank you all so mich!! Cant wait!!

I agree that the 2-person pass is a screaming deal, relatively speaking. I also agree that you have to make time for it. We just sailed in June and I did not use my pass nearly as much as I intended. The days just kind of got away from us with the three kids, and I would tell myself "I'll go tomorrow". I think I wound up using it three of the seven nights.

A few notes...on the Wonder...there are no hot tubs for personal use and the rainforest room is located under the sports deck so you hear, thud, thud, thud, of people running and balls bouncing while you are relaxing. I would NEVER buy a pass on the Wonder again. I actually got a refund for the day I did buy.

According to recent navigators, a length of cruise pass for 7- day cruises are $144. A day pass is listed as $16. Does anyone have any insight?

How much is a couples pass? And when/where can it be purchased? It's just my DH and myself, we are staying concierge and I think those locker rooms are right across from our stateroom (11004) it might be nice to have access to a larger / more relaxing shower than in our cabin :)

We got the couples pass and it was just the two of us so we used it every day sometimes 2-3 times a day. I can't remember how much we paid for it on the 4 night Dream but we thought it was pretty reasonable. We got it at the spa on the first day when we did the spa tour. Funny you mention using their showers because that's what we ended up doing. The showers there were so much roomier and relaxing to use.

If Len Testa and the Unofficial Guide to Disney Cruse Line are to be believed (and I have no reason to doubt them), there is a very limited number of those length-of-cruise passes available. I think he said it was something like 40 for the entire ship.

If that is true, then I would suggest going there while waiting for your staterooms to open on embarkation day. I suspect that the more that word gets out on social media about what a deal these passes are, the quicker they will start going.

i will add that they add a 18% gratuity on top of the price so you may want to factor that in.

What on earth do they add a gratuity for? Nobody is waiting on you, like a masseuse, mani/pedicurist, or hair stylist. They just keep the showers clean, and keep the changing rooms stocked with fresh towels and flip-flops. Everything else, you do for yourself.

I mean, not that I do not appreciate what those folks do, but tipping has traditionally been part of jobs involving some measure of personal service - waiters, hair stylists, masseuses, etc. - where people have to interact with you and customize their service on some level to best suit you.

Now, if you want to have a conversation about the fairness of the wage paid by DCL or Steiner for positions that are traditionally not tipped, that's a whole other thread, I think. But to assign an 18% auto-gratuity to the Rainforest passes is ridiculous.

You do not need a spa pass to use the larger showers. They are not "part" of the spa. I used them daily for free (part of the gym) without using the Rainforest Pass.

Too bad I didn't know I can get a refund. I would've asked for one the minute I went inside. I bought 4 day passes for my group to use prior to sailing. I ended up going first, by myself, one day and was like "this is it?! what a waste of $". But I stick it out, managed to go 2x that day, but was so glad I didn't have a cruise-length pass. On the Wonder, the Rainforest Spa was BORING. Just imho. On the Fantasy, although I haven't tried it, I think it's worth it for at least one day.

But to assign an 18% auto-gratuity to the Rainforest passes is ridiculous.
Totally agree. I think the ladies at the Spa know this and are very helpful in showing you where all the amenities are, if you ask. I guess I'd rather pay the auto-gratuity and have them be helpful, rather than no gratuity and no attentiveness.

I'll be honest - I never even looked at my receipt for the Rainforest pass to notice the auto-gratuity. I will take the word of others that it was there.

And while the staff at the front desk were very nice, they weren't "18% nice". They gave me the sticker for my key card, they explained what the green bracelet was for and....that was pretty much it. The rest was self-explanatory and self-service.
