Is it common for Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom to not give a confirmation number for an ADR? They told me it would be under my last name. I had to call the restaurant directly because it was for 11 people. They also did not ask me for a credit card to put on file.

If you called the restaurant directly, you don't have an ADR through Disney, hence, no confirmation number. Both RFC and TRex are owned by an outside company, and it almost always easier to just call them directly and get a reservation for priority seating. You are good to go!
