Rainforest Cafe vs Rainforest Cafe

Sorry if this has been asked before but is there a difference (ie food, atmostphere, crowds) between RFC animal kingdom vs RFC DTD? Any info would be helpful...

We ate at both last Oct, and there are really no differences in food, service, etc. between the two, IMHO. Outside of the volcano vs. waterfall theme, however.

But the AK RFC is better IMO because of location. We enjoyed AK all day, then hit RFC with the cool A/C and the tropical theming. It was a great finish to the day.

In DTD, RFC is just another theme restaurant among many, in a way.

There is REALLY no difference, but there IS a difference, if that makes any sense. I hope I didn't waste your time with this non-answer answer. We will definitely hit the AK RFC in October, but will do DTD only if time allows.

Hey great question!! I was wondering the same thing. I think we will try AK RFC. We have been to DtD RFC 3 times and love it!

I've read alot of posts from people that don't enjoy the theming at the AK RFC, as much as the DD RFC. We always go to the DD one, because it's usually our 1st night dinner. When we visit it, I feel like we are completely surrounded by the RF, rather than at AK, there is alot of open space... Just my 2cents...

We always make it a point to go to the RFC AK on every visit. We have not been disappointed on any visit. There is nothing like spending the day in the "hot" AK (summer or winter) and then relaxing in the RFC. It is one of our favorites! Enjoy.

P.S. They always give a a projected longer wait time than it really ends of being.

Disneyfan - when you walk into the DD RFC - it looks different on the inside than the AK RFC? I've only been to the AK RFC because of the convenience of having dinner after the park closes. My kids love this restaurant (of course they couldn't care less about the food, but the food has always been very good).

I just may have to try thid DD RFC next visit.

The only real difference I have noted is that the AK Rainforest is darker…..where we were seated, anyway. I had a really difficult time reading the menu!

Just back from our Fairytale Package trip and we ate at DD this time. It is just as nice as at AK and better because we walked right in during the afternoon and actually got a table right next to the elephant. At AK we had to wait even with a PS. I'm guessing the wait at DD is longer at night than in the afternoon, but it sure was nice to not have to wait for something at WDW!
