Do they let you share an entree or do they have a split fee?

Do they take reservations?

I'd like to eat there one night but their portions are probable bigger then we can eat.

Thanks!

We were there in March and we ate there for my b-day dinner. I know we def. made reservations. And if I remember correctly, they changed their policy so that now you can make reservations rather than walking up and adding your name to the list and finding out what the wait time will be.

As for a splitting fee......not sure. I know what you mean about the huge portions. I'm pretty sure my MIL and SIL both split a salad there (and ordered it that way) but I don't know if we were charged a fee. I usually order my dinner off the appetizers list. In March I had the lettuce wraps and they were yummy!!

We have made reservations several times and as recently as last August. We were hungry and did not split. ;)

We are Safari Club members so we never make ressies, but DBF and I ALWAYS split a meal and we are not charged a split plate fee. Of course they don't split it for us either, they just bring an extra plate, which is fine for us. :)

Agree, ate there in August and there was no split fee. Join the Safari Club it helps with a discount.

My dd and I always split a meal--makes it very affordable, although I use MyPoints to get RFC cards so we never have to pay anyway :)

They were recently running a promotion where they weren't charging to join Safari Club (I think it normally costs $15), but I don't see it mentioned now so it may be over with. They periodically send out great online coupons for $10 off, free desserts, and things like that in addition to the usual discounts you get for membership, so Safari Club is a good way to go. I like that you don't have to make reservations, though to be honest I never trust it and usually make them anyway :upsidedow

Does anyone know if there is a way to join without going to the cafe? The closest one to us is in San Francisco and we will not be going there before our trip. Can I join and use the discount right away or do I need ot wait to recieve my card?

How is MYPOINTS now? I used to do it but stopped. Is it worth it?

Thanks!!!!

Unfortunately, you do have to sign up in person. I'm far from an RFC so I just had to sign up once when we were in DLR. However, you do get the discount/free appetizer immediately and a temporary card!

I love mypoints. I tried *************** because of the Disney gift cards, but it did not work for me at all. I think west coasters are at a disadvantage with that one because we miss the early bird stuff. I just try to remember to buy things I would buy anyway through mypoints and I rack up quite a few. My favorite is Lancome. I don't have any particular love for the makeup, but they give so many points that I use it :). Right now, through October, they are giving 3000 points for a $40 purchase. That includes a big free sample kit, free shipping and if you register on their site, you get another free sample as well. My sister loves Lancome so I use it for Christmas gifts. *Tip: I make two separate $40 purchases and get 6000 points, which is almost enough for a $50 gift card to RFC. Ok, that's spending $80 and getting $50 worth, but I get great gifts and lots of free sample for myself at the same time.

I also use the coupons (you earn 10 points each time you redeem a store coupon printed from their site), click on all the email things, try the surveys (I don't usually qualify but I at least get the 10 points for trying), and go to the site fairly often to answer the lame questions that earn me 10 points each. I like their "frogpond" site that allows you to review a website and make a comment to earn 25 points. I just got 3 points for dollar for my latest hotel reservation at DL and I'm using a $100 Marriott reward I got from mypoints to stay there :). Almost any online shopping will earn points. I just WISH they offered a Disney gift card reward! You can earn points from Disney but there's no reward card, unfortunately.

ETA: hmmm, for some reason the name of the other site came up blocked when I posted. Sorry if that broke some kind of rule! I didn't like them at all anyway--I got so much spam.

You do have to be on site to register, but you will get the perks the day you join (free appey or 10% off). I love MP, I use it all the time! For the same gift card, we rarely pay at the RFC because I've usually got a gift card. :)

We usually split things, no fee.

We joined at the Anaheim restaurant, and got the perks immediately.

I do the paid clicks on mypoints; other than that I use sunshine. With mypoints I get JCPenney cards or Landrys cards. With sunshine I get disney cards almost always. I like the combo. :) Well actually once I signed up for an online encyclopedia with mypoints...that was cool but I canceled it. :)

bumbershoot, that's the one that got ***'d out of my post. If you don't mind my asking, how do you manage to get $$ with them? I never qualify for anything and I am never early enough for the special dealies for the first-comers. I think I managed about $3 in a couple of months, and part of that was for joining :rotfl:! I'd love to get Disney cards.

I don't have any luck with sunshine either, I get up and come to work and click thru from work. MyPoints I can just click thru when I get home, I do that about once a week or so.

OP, sorry to hijack.

The scratch off is the early thing I think you're talking about? I do it at 9pm pacific time. That's midnight eastern, and it counts for the next day. :)

I shop through them. I'm back to doing surveys though today it's slow-going! Hubby's traveling for work now, and I'm allowed to do his hotel bookings...3% back from hotels dot com for a total of over 1K in hotel stay = nice pending amount right now. :) Got our airline tickets, after comparing prices carefully, through travelocity with $2 per ticket credit. (though I just noticed mypoints has virginamerica, nice...) etc etc.

They don't have many clicks or paid emails, so it's surveys and shopping. I used to do the free offers, but got really tired of all the phone calls. I ignore most phone calls anyway, but ignoring 10 a day is annoying vs 2 a day. :)

Most important thing, though, is joining their forum. Read read read, participate, ask questions, read stickies. You learn a LOT from the forum, and learning translates to more money b/c you're doing things "right".

OP! If you call Disney Dining, they have an option to either get the RFC reservations number or be sent over to them! But if you go to the giftshop and just buy the Safari Club there, then you just go to the counter (elephant? big rock? what is it there?) and you get the priority seating perk then.

Thanks! I may try shopping through them. I've been going through MP for that but I'm kind of losing interest in RFC cards as compared to something I could put toward hotel or tours etc.

I made the same mistake with the offers. Never again! I did look over the forums a few times but didn't give it much effort
