Hey Dis'ers, any opinions on which I should choose? They are both a bit pricey so I would like to plan and budget for the best one. I do have kids that will be coming with us if that makes a difference. We were planning on the dinner buffet at Storytellers or dinner at Rainforest. Please help:worship: OR Jazz Kitchen...sorry but just found this one and it looks great too!?!?!?! Too many choices!!!

Dinner at Storytellers does not have characters unlike breakfast there.

If you have never been to a Rainforest Cafe, it's worth a try particularily for kids. They will enjoy the effects. If I was picking for a different reason it would be Storytellers.

Thanks skiingfast, not interested in character meals at all. My boys are 11 and aren't really that into the characters. Which one has better food?

The food at the Rainforest Cafe has really gone downhill & is not worth the money in our opinion. It used to be pretty good, but our meal last summer was horrible!!! I'd still run the kids in to the gift shop area so they can see the big fish tank & stuff. They also run some good deals on shirts!

Storyteller's Cafe will be a much better choice if you're looking for good food.

If you go to allears.net you can look at the menus (and pretty accurate pricing) for all the resort restaurants, DTD restaurants & the ones in the 2 parks.

We really enjoyed Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, the PCH Grill & House of Blues. Some different options to at least check out.

I vote for Storytellers. The food there is always great and the ambiance is so cozy and fun. Rainforest is also fun with the atmosphere but the food really stinks IMO

Storytellers Cafe without a doubt is better. Food & service are way better.
Rainforest Cafe is interesting to see like a ride attraction but the food there was horrible IMO. So perhaps just drop by the Rainforest Cafe for quick drink or snack.

I am going against the grain here and say RFC. I have never had a good meal at Storytellers but never had a bad on at RFC. We go every year with no complaints. We also like ESPN zone

I am totally with you. We made it a point to eat at Storytellers our first night at GCH last year and BARF that place sucked. The buffet was like a carb/fat-gram-a-rama. The service was also underwhelming. I'd rather order room service and get a drink from the Hearthstone Lounge. RFC was great -- it's no Brown Derby (sorry DHS reference), but we were all happy and the atmosphere was cool.

i think both are great! I have never had any problems at either!! They are just COMPLETELY different settings.

I LOVE storytellers. however I have never eaten the buffet. Just lunch off the menu. My grandkids ages 8 & 11 LOVE it.

What exactly about it was horrible? When I was there in '08, I had the Shrimp Pizza and thought it tasted fine. pirate:

I would do House of Blues before RFC. We ate there last summer and it was the only meal that our entire family didn't enjoy. (And I've been to several RFC's across the country and had more bad experiences than good ones...probably won't be going back to one.)

Storytellers. Order off the menu. I find that quality of food most often goes down with any buffet.

I also have not had a bad meal at Rainforest Cafe, and I've enjoyed it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.....BUT, much like brocklesnar69, I also have not eaten there since 2008. That's 3 years that have passed since my last RFC meal. A lot can change in 3 years - maybe the chefs at the DTD RFC are different, maybe the ingredients they use now are cheaper, maybe the service is worse, etc. Who knows? I do know that I have been reading many, many more bad reviews of RFC than ever before. So I am not counting my last 2008 RFC meal as being too helpful in advising someone to eat there today because too much time has passed since then.

If the RFC of today were the same as the one I ate at a bunch of times in the past, I would have a hard time picking between RFC and Storytellers because I like them both for different reasons.

But since it sounds as if RFC has gone progressively downhill, I guess I would say eat at Storytellers.

I personally don't think the dinner buffet at Storytellers (if it is a night when it is being offered - it's not 365 days a year) is worth it because there are so few choices. I only think buffets are worthwhile if they have lots of variety.

I would agree with DangerMouse and say to instead order off the menu at Storytellers. While Rainforest Cafe has many more choices on their menu than Storytellers does, Storytellers is a Disney-exclusive restaurant (RFC is not), it has a nice, cozy atmosphere, and what I have eaten there for lunch or dinner has been good. I am especially fond of the delicious spaghetti with meat sauce (full of fresh herbs) and garlic bread - I ate that dish twice on my December DLR trip. That stuff is heaven on a plate!

Rainforest Cafe has always had good food and a fun experience. However, its a chain restaurant found in 13 states and thus doesn't provide something only found at Disney. Storyteller gets my vote!

RFC is a fun restaurant, however, in my experience, the service is extremely slow. The food has always been decent for us.

Storytellers is one of our family favorites, but so is Jazz Kitchen. I would either choose a menu item at Storytellers or a meal at the Jazz Kitchen. I think the food is better at Jazz Kitchen, but would have no issue at eating at either one. Storyteller might still have build your own pizza, which your boys might enjoy. I also like that the music there matches the paintings on the wall. We used to try and match the tune to the painting.

I have ate at both restaurants and I would prefer Storytellers Cafe over RFC. RFC has the nice entertainment of the animals, but it does take awhile to get in and the service was kind of slow. Since I didn't enjoy my experience at WDW DTD RFC, I believe the same thing applies at DL DTD. I have nothing against RFC, just the service is not that good and the food is not that amazing. Storytellers has that magical Disney touch to it and has a very nice atmosphere.

Just to let you know, you can bring children into the bar area at Rainforest Cafe. If you would like to dine at both places, you can do the buffet at Storytellers and then have a beverage and an appetizer for a snack at the Rainforest Cafe. Or, just go have a dessert. There is rarely any waiting to sit in the bar area.

Storytellers!

The food at Rainforest isnt particularly good and the wait is always long even if you have a ressie. Its pretty loud in there too with the animals and rain and thunder but i fyou have kids they might like that.
