Rainforest Cafe--Downtown Disney???

I tried to make an ADR yesterday for RC in AK--nothing available--the CM told me that they also had one in Downtown Disney (which I didn't know)--she said you can't make ADR's for that one; it's walk-in's only--my question is...has anyone been to that one?..is the atmosphere the same & how long of a wait (approx.) will there be? (we're going the 2nd week of April) thanks!

I was there in November, but I have not been to the AK location. From what I understand, the two are the same.

We enjoyed it very much, didn't wait too long for the seating. If you are willing to sit at the bar, you can be seated very quickly. We didn't opt for that, we wanted to sit at a table. Waited about 10 mins first time and 20 mins second visit. This was only a table for 2 however.

If you can be seated near a fish tank, it's worth the wait. I would think especially with young kids in tow.

There is a rainforest cafe card you can get that offers a 10% discount and the ability to make reservations. I was going to look into getting one before we went back in march. I'm sure if you go to their web site you can find out more about the card.

Hope you enjoy! I know that it's not gotten great reviews listed in the Unofficial guide, but we were pleased with everything and the coffee was great! A nice change to the usual sludge at WDW.

between you and me, Annabelleasb, (and everyone else reading the thread) call the DTD Rainforest Cafe directly - 407-827-8500 - and ask for a reservation. When you get to the restaurant walk up to the desk (you may have to nudge your way in during busy season) and they will put you in one of the lines waiting to be seated. Disney doesn't do ADRs for RFC but RFC has their own system. We've done this the last three times, including a June Saturday night, and the wait has never been greater than 15 minutes.

OH MY ..........thanks so much for that "private" tip--I just called & made my ADR--I don't even care if I have to wait 30 minues, I just didn't want to have to wait an hour +----thanks again, I really appreciate it!!!
