Rainforest cafe? Am I nuts??

Ok.....so for the last few weeks I have been really missing Disney. This time last year we were at Disney. We live in Philadelphia so we really can't just swing by Disney. So what did we do? We drove an 1 1/2 (75+ miles) to the NJ Rainforest Cafe!! It was like going to Disney!! We had a great time. Question is...has anyone else drove 3 hours round trip for a dinner??

Yes, it is still quicker and less expensive than a weekend jaunt from home to Orlando, we find things to do along the way if possible or at our destination!

Could you tell me where the RFC is located? We didn't make it there in WDW last August & I sold a couple of GC on Ebay but have 2 left. The one in NY closed down.

The one we went to was in menlo park mall NJ....not to far from newark.
They also have one in AC!!

The one in AC is about 6 miles closer but we had to do some shopping in a mall so we picked the one in the mall.

Last friday we just drove 4 1/2hrs round trip to the RFC in IL because DS was missing disney. So I don't think you are crazy at all!

Yes! We've done it too. We live about 2 hours from the nearest RFC and have driven both there AND to the second nearest one which is about 4.5 hours away only because that one has a neat boat ride in it (kind of like POTC). You're not the only one. However, there is supposed to be a RFC opening here in town this winter and it's supposed to be huge! I can't wait!

There's a boat ride in Galveston. I'm not sure if that's the first RFC and that is why??? And they'll be opening the new one in San Antonio downtown. It's supposed to be 3 or 4 stories. They're remodeling a historic building or something.

I would LOVE to go to a Rainforest Cafe and get another volcano! I can't understand why they don't put one in Myrtle Beach ... everything else is there.

I can't wait for the one in San Antonio to open! My whole family was so excited when we were in SA last month and saw the billboard. (it's only 1 1/2 hrs from us!)

And no, I don't think you are crazy! We've gone to the one in Katy Mills for the exact samething and that's 3hrs from us!

For some dumb reason I never even thought about doing that. I didn't know there was one in AC. Would definitely be a great day trip. Especially if we don't get to the RFC @ DTD during our next trips. It's been a must do for us the last few trips but might not happen on the upcoming ones.

How funny!! I thought we were the only ones to do that!.. We drive from WI. to Gurnee Ill. About once every 2 months. At disney we eat there 3-4 times!! Lori

There's also one in the Jersey Gardens mall in Elizabeth - Exit 13 on the turnpike. Might be a little closer to you than the one in Menlo Park.
