Rain

I've been at WDW plenty of times in the summer, and I'm used to the 10 minute thunderstaorm every afternoon. What is the rain like in March? Is it likely to rain all day, or short showers like in the summer?

And if it does downpour all day, should I still go into the park with my poncho?

I have done the parks in a poncho and without (wet). Rainy days are still fun.

It depends on what is causing the rain as to how long it will last. Major temperature changing fronts tend to cause cloudy/rainy days where the summer convergence of air from both coasts creates the afternoon thunderstorms.

Where it's a "dry heat", Disney has what you call a "wet rain"!! If you consider that a good portion of disney rides/attractions involve water, I wouldn't worry about the rain. Maybe I'm a little sensitive with a foot of snow on the ground.

Sometimes being at a Disney park in the rain isn't so bad. Especially during busy times. Look at this past Christmas Day-- the rain kept the masses away. Christmas Day at MK is normally very crowded, people were reporting this year walking right on some rides.

We've been to a park in the all day rain at least 1-2 times every trip (but one). It's really not bad. We always be sure to bring an extra pair of good sneakers on vacation just for this. That way we don't have to worry so much about getting or shoes wet.

One trip we rode Splash Mtn in a downpour--it was a lot of fun and there wasn't one single other person in line.

We've been many times in August and love the rain! It's alot of fun in the rain. Now if it were raining at home tht would be another story. Hey, PCFriar80 my DH is a Friar 80 too! Go Friars!

Last November it rained all day when we were at MGM. We just wore ponchos and since almost everything was indoors it was great. I would definitely recommend MGM on a rainy day since there is not alot of walking between attractions and everything is indoors.
