We are going to head to CAlifornia Adventure tomorrow. It is supposed to be heavy rain and winds at times. How will things be affected? Will they not do the rides? Will some of the shows be cancelled? This is our last day so we have no choice ...we have to go.

A lot of Californians have attested that weather down there is very sporadic and sometimes what ends up happening is opposite to the forecast. Obviously, you can't make that assumption 100% of the time, so I'd advise to dress for rain. Rides are less affected than shows that use pyro and mid-air special effects (as there are no such shows at DCA, you don't need to worry about it).

I've seen them close a few of the outdoor coasters like Screaming in really bad weather and some of the shows as well. Fireworks will be shut down for sure, Fantasmic too if it's pouring or too windy.

But most things still happen, some food carts will be covered up but the day goes on, employees smile and you find characters in different spots than useful. You'll also find a lot less lines, even on a holiday (locals stay inside when it drops).

When we were there in Dec it was just steady rain ALL day. They cancelled all shows, except aladdin, and closed the outdoor rides like screamin. TSMM was open and the line got looooong, as well as TOT and monsters. They went from walkons to an hour for TOT and TSMM. All the carts were closed and they actually ended up closing the park early because there was no end in sight to the weather and the park was as empty as I have ever seen it. We headed off to DL and it was alright....some things closed but a lot of indoor things to do there :) I am hoping that it is just a sprinkle and it all works out. I would ask a CM about HSM though. Good luck! :)

I've seen HSM I & II at DCA and they were both outside (same spot) so I'm guessing that they will do III in the same location. Keep an eye on the clock for the show times and the rain cuz I'm sure if there is a break in the weather they will pick up with the shows.

I too am SO excited to see III and PRAYING for no rain as it's only showing 1 out of the 3 days we are there! I'll be thinking of you guys tomorrow and hoping for SUNshine!! Have fun!!

I was wondering about High school Musical show...is it held under cover or outdoors?

Its outdoors. If its raining, it probably won't be shown.

The majority of rides still will be running. Throw on a poncho and enjoy the lighter crowds.

When we were there in rain they cancelled all the HSM 3 shows. Even when there were breaks in the rain it was too slippery. The parade was cancelled too.

Yea, we had the same experience. It got down to random sprinkles but they still cancelled the show.
