Rain, Surprise Birthdays, Rain, First Visits -(Ginny is deceased-Prayers for her.)

Sounds like you've got him pegged! I don't want to wait too long. I'm 30 now and I don't want to feel like I'm starting all over again by waiting too long. The anniversary get-away sounds like a good time, too since it will be just me and him. Thanks, Ginny! You're the best.

 Right back at you. It is being married to Don. Your DH is really pretty typical.

Yes, ma'am, I sure will! Thanks again for your advice. It helps talking with you about it!

Working for a psychiatrist I have come to believe that most people wouldn't really need one if they just talked and listened instead of living in their own world

Oh my goodness gracious Ginny, your words are almost exactly what I would have typed except for take out the word psychiatrist and put in divorce attorney. After having seen soooo many people go through divorce, child squabbles, fussing about child support, fighting over the smallest item of community property, etc. etc. etc., it makes me appreciate the goofy, quirky, loving, giving family I have.

That is that part that lets you survive.

Isn't if funny. Docs put down attys. Attys. put down docs. And yet they do the same thing in a different manor.

Oh my you hit that one right! when I worked for the three ortho's unless the atty was a personal friend you better not even mention the word, before booking a new patient we had to ask if they had an atty for the case or problem if so they would not see them:laughing: and if we did book a patient unknowingly "God help us"

We flat out tell the patient's when they come in we will not speak to an attorney, do depos, or help in any way on disabilty claims. The patients all come in wanting a mental disability. I say if I don't qualify no one qualifies. So that is how we determine if I fill out papers or not.:rotfl2: I am totatally evil.

my mom's on disability/she needed it for the insurance when dad retired

when she was 17 she fell out of a 2 story window and crushed her spine; never did surgery-- she was in a VA hosp for 9 mo in a striker bed in CO while dad was stationed there\
when dad retired and they filed for the insurance--they told her to either get an atty or to see a pys. it is easier to get disabilty w/a mental problem than a physcial--go figure:confused3

I am glad your mom got disability. Your poor mother. That had to be awful for her. She obviously deserves it and there are lots of people that do. It's those that take advantage of the system that anger us. We get requests from SS disability even before the patient comes in for an appointment. Grrr.

its funny dad did not want her to file; but, when he found out what cobra cost and than that no ins company would touch her(her spine is crooked--can't repair w/surgery or it will paralyze her). Now, that he is having all these problems and his ins cost is going up and can't shop around (cause no one will cover him; so he stuck w/his current policy--just thank goodness he has insurance) he is happy that they filed--but, you know she had to get an atty and they told her had she waited two more months she would not have qualified. Now, my cousin, my age--and he does have some problems; but, not enough not to work-if you know what I mean; has applied went straight to the pys. and got it w/o any problems...again I say go figure:confused3

Have a great day, today!

Good Morning, Ginny! I :lmao: about you not qualifying, no one does! You are a hoot!

Connie: So sad about your mother falling 2 stories! :scared1: I'm glad she survived, but sorry to hear that she still suffers from it. How did it happen?

We all know I am a total mental case. I used to work the late shift here on Monday nights and I always told the doc I wouldn't schedule patients cause that was my time:laughing:

Daddy was drafted in '65; they were married young 18 for him 15 for her...
he was sent to Colorado for basic and ended up the cook for the Gen and I think Sgt (I think that is how the story goes--needless to say he always missed deployment because of his special cook status)

Well mom & dad had a very small apartment in Colorado Springs and mom was alone alot of times. Except for the old lady who was deaf downstairs. Well, one day while Daddy was out for a weekend training session (he still had to do the military training, stuff). Someone tried to break into the apartment, mom climbed onto the window sill to get the attention of the man across the street lost her footing and fell out of the window. (they were having alot of break ins and rapes in the area of th military wives at the time, so she really freaked out when she heard someone trying to get in).

Your poor mother. For that to have happened to her so young and worst of all, alone. I can only imagine how she felt going through that. An extra big hug for her:grouphug: Those military bases are rough. We never had to go through that personally. (Don didn't pass his physical) but two of my brothers-in-law and my brother just older than me did.

Oh, that's a terrible thing to happen! BLESS HER HEART! I would have been terrified also and would have most likely tried to do the same thing.

Again, those are almost the exact same words I was about to type. Man, you can tell all of us think alike. That's why we all end up on reading the same trip reports.
