Okay so we are just a few days out and the weather does not look good. We are at 90% chance of rain for the first 3 days we are at the parks with 10 to 20 mm of rain projected. Does anyone have strategy for doing the parks in this kind of rain????? Really worried that it is going to ruin or trip :(

Well, I think there is a 90% chance of rain every day in Florida this time of year as afternoon storms pop up due to the heat and humidity. These things can drop a lot of rain in a short period of time. It usually doesn't wash out a day unless a tropical system is coming through.
The good news is it tends to thin out the parks so if you wait it out or just soldier on (if no lightning issues), you can get a lot accomplished.

It will only ruin your trip if you let it!! I can tell you from experience, it's all about your attitude. My kids and I went on a trip with my parents and my sister last July...let's just say they thought they would melt if they got a little wet. Was not a good trip for them! My kids and I on the other hand, didn't let it hold us back. Go prepared with ponchos and a stroller cover if you will use one. Have a weather app on your phone so you can track storms throughout the day. Most ride lines are covered or indoors, plan to do those when it's raining. Or shop or grab something to eat! Most of the rain will just be pop up storms and will pass quickly. If you think it's going to rain, cover your stroller before heading into an attraction. Pack extra shoes, not necessarily to take to the park but for the next day so that your wet ones can dry!

Keep those ponchos handy! You can reuse them for Kali River Rapids :) Like LandShark said, if there is no bad weather along with the rain, soldier on and take advantage of the scattered crowds.

I don't trust Florida weather forecasts until day-of, and even that's sketchy. Unless there's a hurricane coming, they're not going to accurately predict the amount of rain 3+ days out.

Just so everyone knows, this weekend is actually supposed to be a sustained rain, not the normal afternoon storms that clear out fairly quickly. There was a warning of a potential washout, but of course this was a Tuesday night report so everything could change by Friday
There is a new, fairly slow moving front coming in from the north that will be combining with the regular weather patterns that will up the rain and cool down the temperature.

I believe they said it was a weaker storm, so I don't expect torrential downpours. Bring a sturdy poncho and be thankful for low 80's and cloud cover

I agree rain will only ruin your trip if you let it (unless of course there is a huge storm). It rained a few days while we were there earlier this month. One time we had to do ponchos because we were staking our spot for 4th of July fireworks. Another day we saw it coming and found the Electric Umbrella restaurant which was air conditioned, had a rest room and free refills on drinks. It was dinner time for us so we went in got a table and sat there for a good hour or two (it was not crowded at all, there were plenty of tables available). We had full intention of breaking out the playing cards while we waited out the storm but we enjoyed our dinner and each others company and didn't need anything to pass the time. The storm cleared some and we headed out to find an Illuminations spots and it started again. We put on the ponchos and sat and people watched. Illuminations was delayed by about 15 minutes but not a huge deal. Another day it rained in the afternoon and we decided that was the perfect time for Country Bear Jamboree and the Enchanted Tiki Room. After the Tiki Room I got a Dole Whip float and by then the sun was out again. Another day it started raining around lunch time so we headed to Pizzafari for lunch and when we came out the sun was out again. I do think it is helpful to be prepared, keep an eye on the sky and plan accordingly but generally speaking it is not enough to ruin a day/trip (again, just speaking of the daily rain showers not a huge storm).

We toured WDW during Tropical Storm Debbie a few years back. We just put on our ponchos, put the rain cover on the stroller, put on some sturdy shoes and went with it. Cons, yes, you get wet. Pros, most things were walk-ons as a lot of people avoided the parks. Best time to try to get a haircut at Harmony Barber Shop! My go-to park in the rain is EP as there are so many indoor rides and attractions. Even many of the rides have interactive things to do afterward (Mission Space, The Seas, TT, Spaceship Earth etc.), so you can spend a lot of time indoors enjoying yourself before you venture out for the next attraction.

Must haves for a rainy trip:

Real ponchos, not the dollar store kind.
A 2nd pair of shoes or something that dries quickly (Crocs are ideal for this as they can be wiped dry with a paper towel).
Several baseball caps or something else with a brim. There is nothing more annoying than rain hitting you in the face all day.
Shami towels in your park bag so you can dry off seats as needed - sitting in a puddle on a bench or a ride is a gross feeling.
Plastic baggie to keep phone and money/credit cards dry, also easy to use your phone right in the bag if you need to change FPs or check ADRs in DME while outside.
Waterproof mascara.
A positive attitude and a sense of humor.

This is definitely summer weather, I feel as though your 90% chance of rain each day will pop up sometime mid-afternoon. Either buy a Disney poncho for the week, or be prepared to find an indoor attraction.

I'm with the OP in arrival dates but we will have our ponchos ready and the weather app on standby. Might as well make the best of it.

The biggest problem this week seems to be the lightening protocol. A storm an be near MK and all outdoor rides stop running.
I believe that happened at least 3 times on Tuesday when it never rained more than a few minutes each time.
I (think I) understand safety, but it seems better human judgement could keep more rides going.

I always feel better when I see others who are thinking the exact same thing I am. We arrive Saturday. Hoping for typical Florida pop up showers and not a wash out. Sunday is our first day in MK! Eek! With ADRs and FP+ I feel like we lost some flexibility to switch parks due to the forecast.

I enjoy rain in the summertime, thins crowds and cools it off. Grab some sort of rain cover and roll with it is my advice.

We love it too. It's one reason we love POR. You can hang outside the room drink beer and watch the rain. It's also entertaining to listen to the whining. Low crowds, short lines, rain is good.

It cools it off until the rain stops. Then it becomes a sauna. Rain hasn't thinned the crowd at all the last few days.

Okay, but seriously. We arrive Saturday and our first day in MK is Sunday. Are the weather people locally still predicting a complete wash-out. All our FP for that day are for outdoor attractions and with a group of 9, not able to be rescheduled to our second day very easily. We have BTMRR, 7DMT, and MSEP. If it washes us out, will Disney be able to get us some of those for our second day? Without losing what we have for our second day? A&E especially. This is the first time I have felt that FP+ may work against us. Trying to to panic, but concerned.

When an outdoor ride is closed due to rain, they have given the opportunity to use that FP+ at that ride (or several others) anytime until the park closes
Although I think A&E is only an alternate for the parade.

I get that, but what happens if it is the whole day? Is there a protocol for a complete wash-out?
