Just thought I'd do a smallish trip report for the short trip we've just had.
As you can already see from the photos on DH's posts it was rainy!!
Day One
Pretty uneventful journey from Lancs down to Folkestone we stopped at Corley Services which was ok and used the M6 Toll which is great as it's always been very quiet when we've used it. For once the Dartford bridge was also fairly easy to cross and very little queueing.
We had an overnight stay at the Premier Inn. It's a great hotel and we've always had excellent service from them. As DH has already mentioned in another post we'd requested the same room as usual to help with DS and they had our key ready so that DS could be whizzed straight through to the room where we enjoyed our Disney cupcakes!
Day Two
Non eventful trip on the Eurotunnel. We'd advised that we had a disabled passenger so when we checked in it had a little wheelchair symbol on it and we proceeded to the disabled queue (This is a brilliant service which means that you board first alongside the Flexi-Plus passengers) We arrived at Calais with the sun shining (not for long) and headed off, again pretty uneventful, we even managed to go around the tricky bit of the road near the airport as our new sat-nav has lane guidance and saw us through the junctions easily, we arrived at the wet and rainy Cheyenne at 12.15, had a long queue at check in however our room key was ready so we just popped our head into the room to check it was ok and then off to the park!
We went to the Studios first as this is DS's favourite area and he wanted to see Slinky Dog. We walked on Cars race rally and had a couple of goes on that and then I did parachute drop which was fun, it was about a 25 minute queue but as I was riding solo I went pretty much straight on
By the time I came off it was really really heavy and we went back to the room so that we could dry off and empty cases etc (we were soaked completely through to our skin - the laundry dryers came in very very useful!)
