Rain, Rain, Do you Poncho?

It poured last Sunday night while we were in Magic Kingdom. So I broke down and bought a poncho (figured I wouldn't look any worse than anyone else in one.) I looked around at all the ponchos and had to laugh. We looked like members of a cult. LOL. Yes... Disney had us all "drinking the Kool Aid" that night.

You must have been there the same night we were! This was our last night and we were determined to give it a go. I thought the exact same thing as you - they make a fortune on the ponchos and everyone and their brother had them on so it felt like a poncho convention! Too funny....

we took ours when we were there both in october and just back from our recent trip. i think we only left them 2 days on both trips. but then we also have a stroller to toss them into. i agree its a pain to drag them everywhere, but if it help keeps everyone dry, so be it!

We carry them in our backpack along with the other things the kids might need.

If you buy ponchos and put them in your backpack, it will almost certainly NOT rain on you

Now if you buy the expensive Disney ponchos and leave them back in the room, I guarantee it will rain on you!!

Also...don't do what I did...We bought the nice Disney ponchos and used them for a few trips. I unknowingly packed them while still a bit damp, and a year or so later they were a mildewy mess!! Only way to destroy a Disney poncho.

THIS!! Completely agree. I only poncho from Late October - March. It rains so much during the summer months, and then it's sunny two seconds later, I feel like it's a waste. Especially when you dry so quickly. They are wicked uncomfy in the heat! And I hate wearing a ponytail with a poncho! The hood is too shallow!
