Rain on MVMCP night?

What happens, I assume no snow. Will all the characters still be out as usual? Do all the rides run? Is there still fireworks?
Sorry, I want to see if I can change my night based on what doesnt happen

Not sure about MVMCP but at the Pirate and Princess party it rained and hardly any characters were out at all. It did dry up in time for fireworks but my kids were dissapointed by the few characters that were out.

We were at MVMCP last Friday and it rained almost the entire time (actually, it rained all day long). It stopped long enough for the parade and again for the fireworks but all of the stage shows were cancelled and what characters we saw were inside (which were not many). We basically were so cold and wet that we saw the parade, fireworks and rode 4 rides and left. Very disappointing. From now on, we won't buy special tickets in advance - if we can get in at the last minute we will, otherwise we will skip them. Oh, the day of our tickets was the only rain we saw the entire trip.

We went last year and it rained the whole time. Still, we saw many characters and the parade and fireworks. We had pictures taken of us (wearing rain ponchos) and had a great time eating the goodies stationed everywhere. We didn't have our kids with us (30th anniversary) so maybe it was fun just because it was only us!

If you listen to the pod cast, the night it rained, if you went to city hall Guest Relations Disney was fixing people's tickets so that they could return to another MVMCP or refunding money. She said that Disney was doing a great job of helping people with this.

That happened to us also on the 10th of Nov except we didnt even get the parade. The cast members told us that they were told to tell people our tickets could be used for another day at the magic kingdom sometime w/in the next year. We had gotten hit w/ that Tropical Storm/Hurricane thing. It was HORRIBLE. it was our first night at Disney and our first time doing a special event. DH says never again.

Yes, that is why I don't buy my tickets anymore until the day of. One year at MVMCP it rained, it was in the 30's and we were FREEZING. It was miserable. So now I wait. Of course you take the chance of it being sold out.

From what I understood the party is rain or shine. DH and I decided that if we ever went we wouldn't pre-book.
We were in the world last week and Friday was horrible. Saturday was chilly...we bought toques to keep warm and had to wear fleece sweaters.

Listen to Kathy's report on the podcast. She tells you what happens. I know that on nights when it has rained that people have asked for money back or another ticket and they got it for asking. We were leaving the next day so we stayed and didn't bother to ask.
