DD is turning 24 while we are at DW. Would like to eat someplace for her birthday that we haven't eaten at before, we have done CRT, O'hana, Chef Mickeys, and Plaza. Was thinking Ragland might be different and was wanting thoughts. Also if you have been there is there a difference between the lunch atmosphere and the dinner atmosphere?

We ate there last December for dinner -- food was wonderful, but it was LOUD, that was my only complaint. While watching the dancers was fun, you could barely hear when they were dancing.

I think we're going to go again when we go in two weeks anyway, despite the noise!

I was there for lunch, so I can't speak on the difference between lunch and dinner, but the food was enjoyable. It was loud. The Irish dancers were okay-you can definitely tell they were selected more on looks than talent. However I'm from an area where Irish dance is very prominent and there are a lot of good schools in the area, so that's probably why I'm picky.

It is loud, but it can be such a hoot! I prefer dinner cause I think the night lends more to that type of dining experience. I would also suggest trying to sit away from the center stage area; sure the show isn't visible from your table, but dancers come around and its a bit quieter. We go every time we're in Disney. Actually, last time I was visiting Orlando we went, and we didn't even go to WDW.

We LOVE Raglan Road. The food is great, and the performances are fantastic! I'd highly recommend this place!

I agree, if you don't want loud... Go to McDonalds...

We go at lunch time, less chaos in the whole DTD area with all the construction going on...as far as I'm concerned, best scallops on property..!

Irish. However, the food is not, although it is claimed that "Master Chef Kevin Dundon
creates authentic, modern Irish meals with a dash of Celtic creativity". The food is
an altered version of Irish cuisine; some any true Pub would not offer. Bread Pudding
was very tasty. The Shepard's Pie was not close to what one might expect; remainder
of the food was tasty, but average. A surprise, the fish-and-chips were quite tasty
and reasonably priced. Also noted is that the room noise is too high for dining. One
must be aware the noise level and poor acoustical design make for tough conversations
among guests. Ear plugs advised. We found the food can be significantly improved if
you do several of the whisky or whiskey flights.

I'm afraid I didn't enjoy it at all. Bearing in mind I did work at a disco in my 20s this was just to much for me.

Our table was right in a back corner, so didn't get to see anything at all.

The servers were great, but the food was extremely disappointing. My steak was incinerated (I asked for medium) and, instead of bringing me a replacement I was asked "Would you like anything else while you're waiting?" which I took to mean 'while we're getting you a replacement steak. So, I said no. Half an hour later when he came back to ask whether I was ready to order dessert, I was gobsmacked.

Unfortunately the loud noise put me off eating and when he said he'd bring me another entree I ordered the salmon and oriental salad (going by the ingredients listed). The salad was inedible: all dark, bitter leaves and absolutely loaded with raw onion (which I can't eat). So, I only got to eat the salmon: and I'm sorry but orange and salmon simply don't go.

Dessert was also extremely disappointing. The pear tart should have been hot, but was served cold. Not nice. DD ordered the lemon merangue but the merangue was almost totally raw/soft. We do not like it like that in the UK.

So, total waste of a TS credit in my mind. I wouldn't go back.

When you are dancing and the style is supposed to make a noise, you should be able to hear that noise. When the music is so loud that your only experience of the dancing is watching them bounce around without hearing the shoes, it's a problem.

My son is doing soft shoe Irish now (thank goodness not hard as those shoes are expensive) and getting the right footwork is very important even without the noise. His Tap teacher will get on the ground to listen to the sound to see where the kids are missing things. What's the point of all that if the music obliterates the sound? It's an insult to the dancers.

Not sure you've been to Ireland in awhile. And by that I mean at least 1995 when I first went. The only places serving horrid boring pub food are the "Irish" pubs in the States whose owners haven't been back to Ireland since they left generations ago. Every place I've been to in Ireland has had plenty of interesting things on the menu.

Wow, I didn't expect such a dismal set of grades from you for Raglan..

I was just here in September, and I loved the food! Noise doesn't bother me. I was sat away from the stage so I couldn't see the show, that was my only disappointment. I did a full review of the food with photos HERE.

We just ate there earlier this week and weren't impressed. We went shortly after lunch rush - 1:45 ADR and didn't leave til after 3, it was soooooo slow. Service and the kitchen and there was no excuse as they weren't very busy and there were no shows going on. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, of course without the shows, it wasn't very loud at all LOL. However, the food was pretty good and there were a few things on the menu that would entice us back.

Tried this for the first time this past September and while I was really looking forward to it...it was a bit of a disappointment. Yes...it's loud...but that doesn't really bother me. The service was just sort of blah...the food was okay taste wise...but I got very sick that night and I think it was from something I ate here because after I threw it up I felt a million times better. It could just be that something really didn't agree with me...so that's not the reason why I wouldn't go back. I just didn't think the food was that good, didn't think the atmosphere was anything special, and the service was not that great. I wouldn't say it was a terrible experience and that I will NEVER go again...but it's not on my list of places to return to any time soon.

We went in April, and thought food was OK, but we're very disappointed in our seats. No view of the dancers at all, and that was why we chose this restaurant. The seat you get makes or breaks the experience.

Loud is one thing. So loud that you can't have a discussion with the other people you are eating with is quite another. It's not a nightclub, it's a restaurant, I expect reasonable noise levels. That being said, I have another reservation, we loved the food -- I plan on asking for a table a little further away from the dancing, LOL!

You post this same thing every time, and actually Tuskar Rock has been gone for a few years now and Danielle isn't the only dancer anymore. Perhaps you should re-visit the restaurant and post a more updated review.

Loud is one thing. So loud that you can't have a discussion with the other people you are eating with is quite another. It's not a nightclub, it's a restaurant, I expect reasonable noise levels.

That was my feeling. We went there without knowing it was going to be super-loud, and were sort of frustrated that we couldn't hear each other at all. That was coupled with being seated in a place where we couldn't watch the dancing.

I've been to RR twice. One trip, the food was pretty good; one trip it was awful. Lukewarm, soggy fish and chips - some of the fish wasn't even cooked through (the interior had spots where the batter coating was still "liquid" and not cooked at all). Yuck. That was our second time, and we haven't been back since.

We were there labour day weekend Saturday night for the first time, so it was very busy. I actually didn't notice the noise, which is weird for me.

The food itself was okay. Nothing special. But the bread pudding for dessert was delicious.

We went last May. It was dinner and we were in a back corner. I liked or seating because we could kinda see and hear all the dancing but we weren't so close that we couldn't talk to each other.

The food was hit or miss. Dh had fish and chips. Fish was great chips were OK. Kids burger were good but far from great. I had risotto with chicken. Risotto fantastic chicken dry and tasteless. Bread pudding thing they brought me because it was my birthday..... Surprisingly Amazing!!

Thanks everyone for the reviews. It sounds like it may not be a place to celebrate her birthday with the noise. Since graduation she doesn't live near us so as much conversations I can get the better. I will keep on looking.
