I've neve eaten at either of these establishments but really want to try them. Can anybody give their opinion on either one or both :confused3

Is Cooke's of Dublin a Counter Service? I know that Raglan Road is Table Service.

Any help/opinions of these places would be very much appreciated :flower3:

I always get such great responses from everyone!!!!

BTW, I'm going to try and go to one this Friday :cool1:

We had a fabulous time at Raglan Road last trip. If you can, try to get seated near the entertainment - there's an Irish band that plays and are a lot of fun. There are also two step dancers that perform as well.

As for the food, we thought it was very good. One word of caution, it's loud inside so if you have anyone who is noise sensitive you may want to take that into consideration. It wasn't a problem for us - we expected it to be noisy and has an awesome time.

We totally enjoyed Raglan Rd in September. DH was mad at me for not letting him go back the next night! It was very good!

Ragland Road is a TS restaurant, and does have entertainment on certain nights. Cooke's of Dublin is a CS right next to Ragland Road. They have a limited menu and some seating, but its not a full service restaurant.

Thank you for the replies :flower3:

I'm still not sure which one to pick.....that doh-bar from Cooke's of Dublin just might be worth a stop.

I'll let you know which one we go to and my impressions.

we found the cookes of dublin to be fairly poor! we come from england and know what good chips are and these were not so good. the service was incredibly slow- we were the only ones there we couldn't believe how long it took!

also they gave us the smallest portion in the world! we both looked at them and took them back to the counter. we said that the portion of chips they gave us was not acceptable. they looked at us as if we had three heads! they grudgingly gave us some more- they were very rude though- no apologies no nothing!

will only go back to try a d'oh bar if we have room but wouldn't bother with anything else!
