From my reading in the Unofficial guide, Raglan Road sounds like an appropriate family place. We enjoy Irish music and dancing, and wanted to eat there in the evening for dinner so we could enjoy the entertainment. Our kids (3 and 2) enjoy both, so we thought it would be a fun night. Other family members who we are traveling with, however, insist it's an Irish bar and only appropriate for families during the day. It's Disney, and I can't imagine it getting too wild...... Anyway, is it still family appropriate in the evening (think dinner hour, not last call.)

If you go for an early dinner should be no problem. They don't have entertainment until later though (I remember it starting around 8:30 to 9 but I haven't been there since the PI clubs closed). With such young children I don't know if you were planning on going that late.

We went to Raglan Road last summer for a late dinner after Cirque. It was DH, myself, and our twin 7 years old. It was appropriate for families not sure why anyone would say that it wasn't. It is a typical restaurant. Yes, it does have a bar section with people drinking but no different than most restaurants. With kids, we didn't sit in or near the bar section.

Although I will say that none of us liked the food there. We were all very disappointed.

Thanks, that's what we figured. I thought I read the music started at 7? I'll have to check into that.

I am not a prude by any means but RR feels like a bar to me. They have two or three (can't remember - its been a while) bars that surround the tables. I remember thinking I wouldn't be comfortable bringing a young child because it was really a bar - not a restaurant with a lounge like most disney restaurants. The other place that feels way more adult to me is Paradisio 37 - for the same reason - it feels like a bar.

Yet, when I used to go there, the tables were swamped with families, many with small children (I usually never stayed past 9 to 9:30)

I don't have any children yet, but I have been to RR. There were tons of people in there with kids when I was there, which was on a week night around 7:00 p.m. I wouldn't have any problem taking my children there. Like a PP said, it is like taking your kids to any other resturant with a bar. Yes, they have a couple of bars in the place, but it is a large place.

Took my DD15 and a friend of hers just a couple of weekends ago. We got there after 8pm. They went to explore the Planet Hollywood gift shop while we waited and I drank a Guinness at the bar. It's a sizable bar but far from being the majority or centerpiece of the restaurant.

There were other patrons with children seated near us, as well. It's a fun place.
