DYK that at one time escalators were made of wood? they're now made of metal because someone smoking dropped their match into the mechanics causing the lubricating oil (covered with loads of rubbish and dust) caught alight which then caused the escalator to catch alight but the flame wasn't that big. But invisible gases from the flame started to heat up the rest of the escalator and after 15 minutes the escalator was so hot that the flame just rushed up it like a flamethrower and into the ticket area. This happened at Kings Cross Station on November 18th 1987.

Yesterday while my dad was in the shower, I was on the phone explaining to one of my dad's friends how to use iTunes, and she can in and chased me around the house with a blue expo marker... My brand new jacket was ruined.. She then took ice and a spray bottle and got me soaking wet with ice water...
