RAC question?

Our flight on Southwest leaves at 10:55 am. if we have to be at the bus 3 hours before our flight time, can we do RAC? I read that it opens at 5 am. If we are there to check our baggage directly at 5 am.. is that enough time for it to make it to the airport? Could we check the luggage in the day before? Or would it be better to just take the bags on ME with us? We will be staying at POR.

You should have plenty of time to check in using RAC. Your bus pick up will be scheduled for around 7:55 a.m. and that's the same time you need to have your RAC check-in completed. If you are at RAC by 6:30 a.m. you should have plenty of time to get to the DME pick-up point by 7:45 a.m. If you just want to head to the bus with your bags you can do that too, but you'll have to do a lot more waiting around at the airport. If you use RAC you can go straight to the security check point.

Unfortunately, you can't use RAC any further out than 12 hours before your flight time so you can't check in the day before. You still should use EBCI or arrange to get checked in with SWA 24 hours before your flight to get your boarding numbers.

I believe you have to check-in at RAC at least 3 hours before. So 7:55. I would get it there by 7:00.

For a 10:55 flight departure, you should be given a pickup time of about 8am. That's plenty of time to check your bags at the RAC counter. I would get there around 6:30 simply due to the number of others that start arriving at 7ish. You need to be done with your transaction no less than three hours before flight departure. So..you need to be all done and walking away from the counter no later than 7:55.
Get there around 6:30, check the bags, get your boarding passes, and then go off and have a nice breakfast before heading to the bus stop.
