I'm just getting organized for our trip in a few weeks, which includes a 6ish hour plane ride.

I'd love some ideas on quiet toys that your kids love! We have a couple of cloth books that my twins like to play with, so I may get a few more, but if you moms have some tried and true ideas, let me have them!

Some of the things we have taken with our wee ones on flights of between 1 to 12 hours. Plastic cups usually just ask the steward for this, straws, anything small enough for them to grasp in their hands and chew, but big enough not to swallow. (things like plastic animals) I find mine prefer the smaller objects to the large ones that are targetted to their age group.

Old mobile phone that will light up if you have one is always popular.

You will probably find they will sleep for some of it.

Snacks, small things in a bowl that they have to get at themselves, that takes time up.

maybe some toy cars, that you can send across the tray table.

Hope these are of some help to you. Have a great trip.

At that age DS was really into snacks in little containers. We also brought an Aqua Doodle activity pad and a Color Wonder set, but the snacks kept him busy for most of the five hour flight.

Board books, especially the lift-the flap kind (or "rip" the flap, as they're called in my house )

Whoozit (or something similar)

Baby safe photo album. I got one in baby section of Target and put pics of grandparents, siblings, etc in it. This was one of the highlights.

Teether toys

Snacks like Cheerios, Kix, Puffs

We leave in a little over 23 hours :yay: and our DD#2 is almost 19 months old. We are taking some little people toys, went to the Disney store and they have somthing that is almost like little people but they are Mickey and friends. Then we hae a few snack cups full of gold fish. Her Fav snack. Dont feel alone we have a 4 hour flight broken up with a stop in Nashville and I am scared to death over it. We fly for an hour and half stop for 30 mins and then hour and fifty mins. i hope she will be okay.
Best of luck with your flight.
