Quidco cb if you amend a booking?

Following on from my other thread. If I do cancel a night off our WDW visit next year, what will happen to my Quidco cashback? Does anyone know if it will affect this as clearly the amount tracked atm (but not yet paid), is based on 18 nt stay, not 17 which seems to be a fair bit cheaper.

Anyone had this situation before and found the cb has still paid? I don't want to lose the amount as that could be a dealbreaker on changing our booking.

Anyone? :confused3

Has no-one amended their booking while cashback is being tracked??

In addition, can anyone confirm if payment of cashback via quidco is usually quick? I read somewhere that cashback for WDTC doesn't normally pay out until the holiday balance has been paid. However, atm mine is showing due to pay mid July :confused3.

If it does pay then, the option to cancel one night at WDW becomes easier.... :rolleyes1

It won't change the tracked amount however until it is paid there is always a chance that it can be declined.

I have only changed a booking after my cashback was paid but the price didn't alter anyway as I just moved my dates.

I have always received my cashback after just paying my deposit and usually within a couple of months. I am still waiting on my booking from the end of April. Last year they did decline some peoples cashback and no one could work out why hence why we always say get the best price you can before cashback and treat the cashback as a bonus.

Thanks. I have actually noticed there seems to be a new clause in their T&Cs stating that cb won't be paid until after the holiday is taken.... I am unsure when this was implemented but I certainly can't recall seeing it in there when I booked in April!

I have used Quidco for DLRP holidays in the past and out of 4 holidays I booked via them, one didn't track. In the end I contacted them and while it was a pain to sort out, it did eventually get sorted and I got the cb. At over £250 cb for our WDW portion, I don't want to mess it up in anyway. And, if we risk losing it, plus the £50 admin fee to change, I am left wondering if it is actually worth amending our booking!? :(

I am hoping my cb might be paid by mid July but I've read on another board of people saying their cb hasn't been paid by their estimated date and they are still waiting. I suspect it is due to the new T&Cs - but if you booked under old ones, that should be honoured too :confused3. Why give an estimated date for payment if in fact, as in our case, it's going to be 14 months away at least! :rolleyes1

My cashback did have an estimated date but no longer does.

I never ever rely on getting my cashback until it is in my account - it is never guaranteed.

What is the booking terms on the Universal booking? If its only going to cost £4 more to book the extra night why not book it and then you can make a decision later. You have up to 8 weeks before to amend the Disney booking.

Thanks :).

I have sent a message to Quidco about the new t&cs as that definitely wasn't there when I booked back in April. I can see why they have done it, but still it's a change to what I booked. I can update here when they reply.

Appreciate cashback is never guaranteed but if the booking is undertaken properly and legit, then a claim can be raised for non payment.

After family debate, I am going to hang off booking US so if this type of deal is still available then I'll review. From what I have read, a 4th night at US is nearly always cheaper/cheap, so hopefully it won't be an issue.

It might be because guests used CB to circumvent the deposit penalty in case of cancellation.
some people even reported making money out of cancelling a booking.

for example, make a 21 nights ressie for 2 adults, Polynesian Resort Theme park view with 14 days tickets with the current FD deal

total price is around £9700, which means £291 in cashback
if a guest books this and cancels when they get their CB they only lose their £100 deposit.

so cancelling would actually earn them £191 without doing anything.

So maybe disney did crack down on this. (even though my CB did not track on april 24th, I made a claim and was actually paid within 3 weeks, despite the fact that quidco notified me that disney did not accept claims less than 30 days after booking)

In my opinion, there is a fair chance that disney denies the cashback should you amend your booking (easier than recalculating a new CB)
If you get paid before then you're golden. But I don't think you will

Now, it is very unlikely that the current deal will end on july 10th. It will rather be phased out, with a smaller gift card or no gift card at all, but the rates should remain the same, as well as FD deal (or so it was on previous years)
so you may have a longer window to get paid, and then you might be able to amend your booking without any consequence for your CB and still retain the deal you booked.

I agree and that is why I said, I understand why they have done it. But, it does make it difficult to then amend a holiday which may or may not affect the cashback. Appreciate cashback is a nice to have rather than a guarantee but if you book through the correct channels and your claim is legit, then you should be paid what is advertised.

I recall seeing a site (independent travel agent), in April, which listed the free dining deals and the offer dates for the rest of the year. Clearly someone had dropped a clanger as when I went back to double check it for someone else, it had been removed. But yes, in essence, I do recall free dining going on for some time yet and also I'm fairly sure a $100 gift card is to come yet.

Sorry, just re-read your post. Are you saying you've been paid already for a booking you made on WDTC release day - 24th April 2014? I booked that day too, but my payment day is showing as mid July. But even then, it seems, that is fictitious if the new terms are anything to go by.

yes, but I think it's because my CB did not track. I raised a claim and my CB went through manually (I assume)

here's my activity report for that transaction (less than 3 weeks to get paid) but once again, I think it's because it was processed manually, I may even have hit a loophole here.

You have been really lucky to get paid so quickly and without any fuss. I have had to raise non track claims with DLRP before and waited ages for it to be sorted out.

I am still hoping I might get paid in July so that I can then amend my booking. But, in reality, I think I am going to be waiting a while.

Still no word from Quidco about them changing the t&cs after I booked. I will update when I hear from them.

Just to update this thread, I have now heard from Quidco and they state that if I amend the booking, then WDW will decline the cashback :sad2:. They recommended I cancel the booking and then rebook the whole thing - not likely considering I stand to lose £300 deposit!

However, what they flatly refused to answer (read 'ignored'), was what happens with my payment because I booked before the t&cs were changed to say payment will only be paid once holiday is complete. They just pointed out that this was their terms of booking. BUT it wasn't when I booked - this was put in place afterwards, but I am unsure exactly when.

I have gone back to them again, but unsure I'll hear anything back. I also asked whey they are giving an estimate of mid July 14 payment for my cb, when I don't go away until Aug 15, and so under new terms wouldn't be paid until after then, appreciate it's an estimate, but at potentially over 13-14 months out, it's not much use to anyone really :confused3.

Still hoping I do get paid this July but I really can't see it.... :crazy2:
