Quickie - Transportation to the Contemporary?

Hi

I'm sure there is a very obvious answer to this...
We're staying at POFQ and want to have Chef Mickey's breakfast at the Contemporary...how do we get there using Disney transportation? Does it matter what time our reservation is? (Am just about to do our ADRs).

We took the bus from our hotel, to the MK and walked over. Unless you at a Monorail hotel, there is no direct route.

if your reservation is early, very early... the 7am buses to MK will drop you at CR on the way. These are the Character Breakfast Buses. They only run at 7am.

Both posters are correct. If you have an early dining time (7-7:30 a.m.) you should check with the resort to see what time the transportation for character breakfasts will run.

If you have the later times you will just take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and walk over. It is a very easy walk from the MK bus drop off and only takes a couple of minutes.

From what I have read on here sometimes the buses that leave very early for the Magic Kingdom might also drop you off at the Contemporary for your breakfast ADR's, however there have been other reports of that not being done. So I would say it's a 50/50 chance of that happening and if it does not happen, it's a very easy walk from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary.

Not always. I have taken the early MK bus in order to go to the CR for early ADRs at Chef Mickeys. Only one time have I been dropped at the CR rather than going all the way to MK. Almost every time I board the early bus, I ask the driver which is faster to get to CR...monorail or walking. Now, I know which is faster, I always walk. But, I figure that if the driver knows I need to go to the CR, he may 'offer' to drop me there. I've done this about 4-5 times. Only one time, in January, did I get dropped at the CR. The driver told me he usually doesn't do that unless the guest is the only one on the bus..which I was that morning. It can't hurt to ask, but don't be surprised if the driver says no.
As for when the buses start running...usually a bit after 6-6:15. I have yet to have an issue making it to the first seating at a restaurant. But those early morning buses do not come as frequently as the regular buses, so plan accordingly..leave yourself enough time.

You could always take a taxi to CR. But it wouldn't hurt to ask the driver. I've had several drivers take me to where I wanted to go and I never asked them to. One in particular because he stopped to talk to us and noticed that 4 DHS buses had come, where he was suppose to go, and none for Epcot. So we had a bus of our own. So now you know what it means when you see "Special" on the bus.

To me a taxi is overkill unless someone in your group has an issue walking to the Contemporary from the MK bus depot. It is a lovely walk that takes very little time; a great way to start the day and get the blood flowing before the bountiful buffet that awaits you! If you take this walk, look for the hidden Mickey's along the way.

Others have also reported the driver just might drop you off even closer to the Contemporary.

After breakfast if you can spare the time explore the Contemporary or at least the area behind the hotel. We got some really fun photos out there on our way to the boat launch over to the Wilderness Lodge for a peak around that resort.

Wish I was going to see Mickey and his pals for breakfast soon.
