Hi everyone! We did the Dec 4th 4-day cruise on the Dream. I may add photos later, but wanted to do a quick and dirty report before I forget anything.

Loved:

- Decor. The ship was stunning and very clean. The staff was all incredibly friendly and constantly working to keep the ship in pristine condition.
- Pink, we had a great time here and loved talking with our bartender about life on a cruise ship.
- Our room. We had a verandah room It felt spacious and was in excellent repair.
- Entertainment. We just got to see one show - Believe - and it was really incredible.
- The drinks. All of the fruity cocktails were delicious, though not very strong.
- The spa. Hot Stone Massage changed my life.
- Remy. Epic dining experience.
- Pirate night. The show they put on was great and the fireworks were amazing.
- Our stateroom attendant. He did really cool towel animals and placed my son's stuffed animals in fun spots each day.

Liked:

- The food. Nothing wowed except for Remy. A lot of the dining room dishes were bland and we had a few crunchy potatoes, some underdone rice and lots of soggy bacon.
- The kids club. My DS loved being able to play with other kids, but I rarely saw any of the kid's club CMs going above and beyond to engage the kids. Lots of little ones wandering around aimlessly, toddlers and little kids need a little help getting play started.
- Castaway Cay. Enjoyed bobbing in the water and meeting Captain Jack.
- Room service! Only ordered it once but I thought it was better than the food in the dining room.
- Cabanas. Huge selection and some real standouts like the sushi.

Did Not Like:

- Our dining room staff. They were nice people, but so overwhelmed which was weird considering they had an entire empty table in our section. I can't imagine how it would have been if that table had been filled. Our server constantly talked about how stressed she was and they always seemed to be rushing. Water was rarely filled and they often forgot requests. We did not look forward to dining. They also forgot to celebrate my son's birthday which I was told they would do with a song.
- Our room location. We were next to the room they used to hoist the flags so there were always CMs out on the deck making noise and ropes flying about. Our room was also very noisy and being at the rear of the ship was terrible when we were docking. Everything vibrated and shook and it scared the bejeesus out of my son when we had to do an emergency return to Nassau in the middle of the night and everything in the room started shaking so loudly.
- Service at Remy. Our server was nice, but I didn't like two of the dishes on the tasting menu and left them untouched. There was no offer of replacement or substitution which was disappointing.

Overall it was a fun experience! I'm not sure I'm cut out for cruising, but we are considering giving the Fantasy a whirl in a few years.

Thank you for reading. pirate:

I would be curious as to why you had to head back to Nassau if you are able to share!
We are not going until next December, but I am reading all I can as this will be our first cruise.

Just got off the Dream on Monday. There has been a lot of employee movement due to the Fantasy coming on board. I found a lot of CM's with a month or two experience with DCL. I was also frustrated with some of the food items from our rotating dinner locations. Hopefully by late summer all of the staff on all the ships will be up to Disney's high level of excellence.
