Our friends the Hill family and our town!!!

We are watching! I love them already, they seem like a great family. So full of love!

Its a beautiful house and fits in wonderfully with the neighborhood. It is big enough but not too big. The Hills have wonderful neighbors. Their daughter Gereem wrote the letter to ABC but she was not living at home so was not included in the program or vacation. Larry is DS#4's friend. He is missing his two front teeth. That is temporary. He is in the process of having them replaced. I would say that they sing in their church choir but they are the church choir; , or at least a good part of it. This family has never been on a vacation. Most have never flown in a plane and when Larry came over to our house after he returned, it wasn't; "what we did in WDW, where we ate or where we stayed", it was, "I couldn't believe that we were all together as a family". They didn't know until that very morning if it was them. There were four other families waiting in their homes too. They didn't mention it, but Mr. Hill has done two complete tours in Iraq.

I watched it too. I put it on while waiting for Amazing Race and I couldn't turn the channel to Amazing Race when it started. What a wonderful family. They made me cry. Thanks for sharing your info.

I just finished watching it on line. I noticed that it was mentioned so many times that there are 13 of them. The symbolism with the table legs and the silhouettes on the walls. I wonder why they didn't make any mention of Gereem. Obviously she is still very close with her family and and intricate part, otherwise she wouldn't have cared enough to write the letter.

They didn't mention it, but Mr. Hill has done two complete tours in Iraq.

I thought that this was odd. Was that an ABC decision or did the family not want to talk about his service to our country?

I am sure that there was so much footage that ended up on the cutting room floor in the interest of time. I think that they focused on the family aspect. DS#4's friend Larry has been their son since he has been three years old. He is 20 now. This is not a family that took everyone in, during the last couple of years. Its an ongoing commitment to family. I can't remember who has what last name, and in that family, it doesn't matter. They are all brothers and sisters, mom and dad.

I never miss an episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and I really enjoyed this episode. They were so appreciative and you could tell how much it meant to them. They seem like such an amazing family. And of course they made me cry at the end
