Long story short, I spent March 30-April 2 in the parks on a solo trip for my bday (April 1st). Except... I spent my entire birthday sick from food poisoning. I didn't get to the park that day until about 5pm and only lasted an hour.

Anyway, Frontier had $70 RT airfare from Denver so my DH told me to head back for 3 days May 6-8! Obviously it helps to have an AP, but it also helps to have an awesome husband who encourages me to do this stuff.

I've never been in May before - is it safe to assume that since all the Spring Breaks are over that the crowds might be a little lighter?

That is a great time to go!
We often go during that time because crowds are lower, weather is mild and it's right before things pick up so most attractions are open.

You will have a wonderful time!!

Yay for you getting another shot at magical birthday!

We will be there those days as well! As far as crowds go, not sure what to expect. Its "Bats" Weekend which appears to be a much smaller gathering than something like Dapper Day. Indy will be closed, so that puts a lot of guests in other ques throughout. We arrive the 6th, but don't have a park day until the 7th. I believe there is a grad night on the 6th, and I have zero personal experience with how that effects the parks. I'm also hoping because the following weekend is the tinkerbell half marathon that our weekend should be pretty calm!!

I am so excited for the weather!! 79-80 hopefully. Oregon has been nothing but rain for months.

Make sure to grab a Happy Birthday button...it makes for a fun trip! I had no idea how many well wishers there would be throughout the park. Even a custodial CM sang me happy birthday in the most extravagant way. It made me feel so special.

Yes! I have my Happy Bday buttons from this last trip - I don't think I'll wear them again since the time I was able to spend there was magical (just not my actual bday!)

I've never done it, but I think there are some folks here on the Disboards who have, but Micechat's Gumball Rally (http://micechat.com/events/rally/) event is occurring on May 6th. That might be something to look into (although, it looks like you need a minimum of two people to form a team). There may also be some Cinco de Mayo offerings; probably mostly food items in DTD - they haven't announced anything, but they often don't announce what's planned until that week.

I think MouseAdventure announced that they were also running an event the day after Gumball Rally. So if GR is the 6th, MA is the 7th.
