Worst case scenario do a charge back. You paid to ride at a certain time, it wasn't available, you didnt get what you paid for. It's a last resort but always an option.

Sounds like you had a great time at the Oogie Boogie Bash. Maybe just reserve your park time and dollars for the special events. for a while. DL definitely has crowding problems!

For those that keep saying "October is busy, but the rest of the year is manageable," I'm not buying it. September was insanely busy and July 2021 was the same way! There is no more "off season" at DL. In fact, I don't think they are even adhering to maximum capacities. They've created artificial chokepoints (Genie+, 1PM Park Hopper restrictions, OBB, etc). Disney Parks management doesn't care about anything other than your money. It's sad what they've devolved, too.

The biggest problem at Disneyland is the crowding. They obviously aren't charging enough to keep people away.

DCA, besides Chamber of Commerce, there is one across from Carthay, one by the entrance to CarsLand, and one of Paradise Pier new Incrediacoaster.

That's what I thought at first and what the first CM said. Second one had me click on the updated pass and it said it was good for that day only (any time) on Rise only. We did get a couple other MEPs during the trip and those did list the other options as you say, but not the Rise one.

Interesting. The MEP I got for my Rise ILL in July was good for basically all other rides- I was afraid I was going to accidentally use it on something else! Sounds like they changed that (maybe to avoid accidental use like I just described).

Could be. Wish I did a screen shot of what it said because it was not the same as the MEPs we got from Indy or Thunder Mtn. Those listed all the other ride options but the ILL MEP said good for Rise only. They probably would have let me switch if I'd had time to talk to Guest Relations but not sure what would have happened it we'd tried to use it with a random CM at a lightning lane entrance.

I'm with the OP. Not doing those crowds ever again! I miss my China days when I toured Hong Kong and Shanghai Disney and never experienced insane crowds or lines!

It's hyperbole. Really common when folks are trying to be funny - they did not intend to be taken literally.

I remember crowds like that in, let's see, the late 80s? We'd gotten a day ticket on a lark because we were in OC, but it was so packed it very nearly fit the OP's hyperbole. I was overwhelmed and kept thinking how unsafe it felt. There was no way to do much. We walked from the entry to Frontierland entrance before we just looked at each other, turned around and crowd surfed back and left.

Hyperbole aside, it was scary to me. I couldn't see much but heads and bodies surrounding me and I just kept wondering what would happen if there was an emergency. I related very well to the OP's description and I still wonder how it could be safe to pack in that many people.

I do remember similar type crowds, but on NYE I think ini 2017. It took us 30-40 minis to get from the exit of Haunted Mansion to the exit of Pirates, with a VIP guide. It was that packed.

When we went mid October there were times by Pirates and New Orleans square where I thought I was going to lose my daughter (6). So much so that I started using a stroller she didn't really need because it felt safer.

End of January is start of the 100 year celebration and the MMRR opening. I would not count on it being slow, but extra busy.

How prophetic your post was…120+ people trampled to death on the streets of Seoul. Makes me think twice about crowd behavior. It can be pretty frightening.

Fingers crossed, hoping it won’t be like that when we’re there. If so, we’ll minimize our time, take longer afternoon breaks. It’s all so crazy when you hear about how bad inflation is, people are strapped for cash, yet it hasn’t deterred people from going to the parks at all. Something is rotten in Denmark to be sure. The numbers just don’t add up, yet Disney is laughing all the way to the bank
