Family of 5, 4 night stay (2 at Grand Legacy, 2 at DL hotel). Had a great time. Spoiled by the DLH; these rooms are so nice! Had a cabana for an afternoon ($159 for 4 hours); really nice.

Here are a few issues I had:

DVC time waste – I got a postcard in the mail a couple weeks ago that said if I attend a DVC tour, I can get a $100 gift card so I called and set up a time in the afternoon on one of the days that we were going to be there. I figured I could go while my wife and kids were on rides or hanging out at the motel taking a break. The guy on the phone offered to have a car pick me up but I didn’t know where I was going to be that day so I said I could just walk to their office since he said it was between PPH and DLH.

The walk turned out to be longer than expected since it was hot and there is a few blocks worth of walking through parking lots after leaving the Grand Californian. I got to the office and got a name badge and a Coke. They then put me in a room and put on a video. After ten minutes a lady came in and asked where my wife and kids were. I said back in the park. She told me I needed my wife there in order to qualify for the $100 gift card. I was kind of annoyed since I had read the fine print and no one I had talked to on the phone while setting up the appointment had said anything. They claimed it said so on the postcard but when I checked it later, the fine print just stated that the attendee needs to be able to make real estate decisions. They also said the person on the phone should have made it clear (which they didn’t since I even mentioned that I was going to meeting by myself). I whined a little about how it kind of sucked that I walked all the way over on the hot day for nothing but they didn’t offer anything up. I was kind of hoping for a ride back to DCA. So that kind of sucked and left a bad taste in my mouth regarding DVC.

Let It Go – On Wednesday morning, after enjoying DCA EE, I picked up fastpasses for the Frozen live show at 11:30. My kids didn’t want to see the show but I talked them into it with promises of future treats. We had mezzanine seats and showed up about 20-25 minutes before show time. We eventually got seats and bought some red vines and popcorn. Show finally starts. About 10 minutes into the show, right around when the ‘for the first time in forever’ song is supposed to happen, the show stops and the actors leave the stage. There is an announcement over the PA saying there is a delay. Then a few minutes later, another announcement saying there is a problem and the show is cancelled. The doors opened up and everyone has to leave.

I was disappointed since I figured this would be my only shot at seeing it this trip. I felt really bad for people with kids who really wanted to see it, or ones that paid for the extra pre-show stuff. Anyone have any idea what happened?

Also, a note for anyone going to watch the fireworks from main street in the near future – The block with the starbucks/crystal arcade does not have the building projections working currently. There star bucks building is being worked on and the whole block (basically half main street) stays dark during fireworks.
