I just returned from a quick 2-day trip over Memorial day weekend. We did MK both days, Saturday and Sunday.

I'm going to start with the Ugly, because the Good definitely outweighs it.

The Ugly - I watched a grown woman (late 30s, early 40s) flip off and say F you to a CM at the Peter Pan FP entrance. My jaw dropped in shock and the woman saw me and I too got the same gesture, a flip and an F you. At Disney World. In line for Peter Pan. Around all those kids. Imagine what this woman must be like on a normal non Disney day!

The Bad - Daytime crowds were the thickest I have ever seen, however, being a holiday weekend, I expected this. In some spots (around PP and IASW) it was hard to walk through (Crowds thinned considerably after wishes). I learned the hard way that my son, that doesn't nap at home, definitely needs a nap at WDW (and me too!). We were that family that was all having a melt down.

The Good - This was my son's first trip. The character interactions with him are moments I will cherish forever! All the CM's were amazing, I didn't encounter one without a smile. The new FP+ is amazing - we averaged about 6-7 FP each day. And the Disney magic is real. My son **hates** fireworks, but he was mesmerized by Wishes. Watching him watch Wishes was just magical! pixiedust:

That sounds soooooooooooooooo magical and wonderful! :smickey: I am very happy to hear that your family had such a nice time. Too bad about the bigger child with poor manners (30-40 something woman) you encountered. Disney Magic can only do so much:tinker:Thanks for the quick review and keeping everything in perspective :goodvibes

Thank you for the report, so glad you were still able to find magic in the dense crowds.

Such a shame that you had a not so magical run in with that lady at PP. Times like that the best you can do is smile at the ugliness and hope that they find some magic of their own.

Omg, I hope it wasn't Wendy!!!!!!

what time did you finish up with your 3rd fast pass each day? pretty good getting 6 or 7 on a busy weekend.. or is that normal?

My 4.5 yr old doesn't nap at home but I told him he will need to "rest" at Disney. I'm 99.9% sure he will nap. Lol. My 2 yr old does nap, so we are taking mid day breaks for them, my 2 parents over 65, and myself!

This will be my 4.5 yr old's first trip with memories (he was 9.5 months old for his first) and my 2 yr old's first ever. I *know* the tears will be flowing (from me) watching their experiences throughout Disney!

Glad you guys enjoyed it!

The first day we finished our initial 3 FP at the 2-3 pm time slot. The rest of the FP was used before 630 (we left the park).

The second day, we finished our initial 3 FP at the 850-950 slot, probably right at 9. We used our last FP that day at 11:15. I'm not sure if it's normal or not, but we did see other people booking FP on their phone. Granted, they weren't headliner rides, but the standby lines were averaging 30-40 minutes.

Oh yes, tears were shed watching him! I was so worried that I wouldn't like WDW with my son because before this trip, I have never been with a child. But it was just magical. Seeing Disney through your child's eye's is so very special!

I find that as adults - we ALSO need naps at Disney - probably more than our daughter :) It sounds like you had a wonderful time overall.

Oh yes, yes, yes! The first day, he went all day, up at 7a and went to bed around 9p. No issues that day. However, the meltdown started as soon as we got to the park the next day. He refused to walk. Like sat down and screamed and wouldn't get up even if I walked away. I tried everything to reason with him. I called it quits after lunch and he napped for 4 hours! And I napped for 3! We were all so much happier that evening. And it worked out better because the crowds are less in the evening. Lesson learned and I'll be structuring our December trip for naps!

Only one response possible for this:

"Have a magical day!"

Disney is magical all over again ... no matter the crowds ... when seeing it through the eyes of your child.

Naps/rest is key during the afternoon .. especially the hotter it is.

Glad you had a good time despite the "ugly"
