We booked Moderate this year for Free Dining in December. We have booked the free dining promotion probably 4 or 5 times and have always had the regular dining plan. This year will be our first time doing the QS plan. While we will miss the table service meals, I'm thinking it may be nice not to have to plan every day of our trip around table service meals. Does anyone here with experience with both plans like the flexibility the QS plan offers or will we be wishing we had upgraded to the regular plan?

There are so many great cs restaurants. You can eat very well w qs and in your schedule. BO.g breakfast is a fabulous use of a credit. Flame tree barbecue is one of my favorites. Sunshine seasons at Epcot has some choices that are as good as many ts options. Look at is a chance to find the best qs options, there are many!

Do the math, what would it cost to upgrade? Maybe take a portion from of that and book 1 or 2 ts?

We were in the same boat last year and really loved the flexibility and freedom of the QS plan. We’ve had many trips with the regular plan in the past. Last year we still made one or two TS ADR’s but really liked not having reservation times overall. We’re really into the rides and easily snagged many fast passes via the app after our first three of the day. It was nice not being tied down for a reservation. We are go, go, go type of people though. Our family of four “Disney Adults” usually used three QS meals and shared at each sitting and it was a ton of food. This stretched it out for all of the days of our trip. We especially loved QS’s in World Showcase and at the resorts. We’re doing this again this year and looking forward to it! Enjoy your trip!

We like to eat good so we always upgrade the QS to Regular. I am sure we would still have an awesome time with just the QS DP.

WE check out all the CS menus before we leave so by the time we arrive we have a very good idea where to eat. I find that there is a wide variety of CS options to choose from, and while I tend to keep a regular plan, I would not shy away from all CS.

Go over the menus in advance so you have a good idea what is available throughout the parks. We are doing this now with snacks, and I bet my DD and DSIL will have a spreadsheet built that itemizes every one that they want to try!

We had 2 trips with free DDP, then last year we had free QSDP. We loved it. So freeing not to be tied to ADRs. We ate very well and had many excellent meals. We have free QSDP this year again and I can't wait!

I’m excited about trying out the QSDP this next trip.

One of the disappointing things about our last trip was the TS meals. While some of the servers were nice enough, overall the service was sorely lacking at almost every meal (10 meals in all).

I am a little concerned about seating at the QS restaurants, as I had a terrible experience on the last trip. My plan is to do lunch at 11 and dinner at 5 to hopefully beat the crowds!

ETA...it will be nice saving the hundreds of dollars in tips as well.

You can also do mobile ordering. After hitting the "I'm here," go find your seat and send one person to the counter to pick up food when they send the "it's ready."
