We are new DVC members and are looking to go to DW next June. We are probably going to do a split stay (AKV-SV and BLT-S) and have a question about the DDP. Can we book our first five days @ AKV with Table Service and book our last five days @ BLT with Quick Service?

Yes you can definitely do this. Since you are doing a split stay at totally different resorts there is no issue with having different dining plans for each part of your stay. It would not be possible if you were staying at the same resort in the same type of room.

Thanks!! How would park tickets work? We would want 10 day park hoppers, would we have to buy 5 & 5 or all ten at once? OR would it be better just to get our tickets when we arrive?

You might want to compare the prices for the 10 day hoppers that you will need vs. the price of DVC APs for your party. As I understand it DVC purchase of the dining plans is not connected to ticketing, so go with your best price ticketing option.

Correct, you do not need a park ticket package to have a dining plan when staying on DVC points. In fact, I don't think they let you pre-add tickets to a DVc points stay.
Check out the AP option. With the 10% shopping discount it may be worth having at least 1 AP.
Otherwise you can buy slightly discounted 10 day hoppers (2, 5 day tickets would be a lot more) from UT, and save a few bucks more if you subscribe to mousesavers newsletter.

The more days you put on a ticket the cheaper each day becomes so you would want to purchase one ticket to cover all your days. Basically a 10 day ticket. As others have already said you need to price out the various options to determine what type of ticket will work best for you. Since you indicate you want the Park Hopper tickets you should definitely consider possibly getting an AP as already suggested. If you know you will definitely be returning to WDW for another trip before the AP would expire then AP's would be the way to go especially an AP with the DVC discount. Are you also planning to do the Water Parks and/or Disney Quest because that would make a difference as to which AP you would want to get?

Thanks. I think our best bet is buying 10 day park hoppers online before we leave or purchase them at one of the parks when we arrive.

One thing to consider is whether or not you will be going back to WDW within a year of your June trip.

We go every August but what we do is plan the trips 51 weeks apart so we can get 2 trips out of 1 pass.

Last year, we went August 10th to the 15th--this year, its the 5th to the 10th. This way, one pass covers both trips--makes it worth while--of course, I also went in February and May so this year, we got a lot of days out of the trip.
