Quick Service Qs and Recs?

Hi! We're planning our first trip to WDW as a family of six (all four kids will be 6 & under) and I had a question about lunch at Quick Service.

1) Is there a seating area available at Quick Service locations?

2) Since our kids are 6 & under we intend to bring PBJs, applesauce pouches, cheese sticks, etc. for their lunch in our insulated lunch box (fits inside our diaper bag). Can we eat these things at the Quick Service seating areas? Or only food from there allowed?

3) What are your favorite Quick Service food stops, preference given to those with seating areas, in each park? My husband and I will likely order lunch each of our Park days (we have 1 day at each park: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and lastly, maybe a second Magic Kingdom day)

Thanks so much!! :)

Hello and congrats on the upcoming trip!
1. Some qs places have seating readily available and some don't. Some have a lot and some very little.

2. Some places have restricted seating due to Covid, but as long as you have a mobile order, you should be able to get in to sit down and eat food brought in.

3. I'm not familiar with enough qs locations to be extremely helpful, but Flametree bbq in Animal kingdom has a to of seating and is outdoors on the water front. Get a table close to the water so you can easily see character flotillas pass by. Also, the food is really good. In Epcot in the world showcase area, they have lots of qs locations and outdoor dining available. Hollywood studios, to me at least, is a terrible spot for qs, but pizza rizzo or abc commissary might be good options with lots of seating available. Im not as sure on where to go at Magic Kingdom.

Good luck with your planning and enjoy the trip!

Thanks so much for the tips! I'm making a note of those places :) The Flametree sounds lovely.

Here are some of our faves around the parks, our experience is all pre-Covid restrictions so hopefully someone will update if anything has changed.

MK - Columbia Harbor House. Love the food and has a huge seating area upstairs which is great when you need a bit of time to unwind and eat lunch. We also love Pinnochio Village Haus where we can usually eat while watching the Small World boats go by.

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons is my favourite here primarily because of the huge seating area. It usually offers something a bit different from the usual burgers, hot dogs etc. Lotus Blossom Cafe in the China pavilion is another favourite, while the quick service in Japan has a great seating area.

Hollywood Studios - believe it or not, Pizza Rizzo is my favourite here, huge seating area (upstairs out on the balcony is amazing) and I actually like the pizza there. I also really like Docking Bay 7.

AK - Satuli Canteen is my favourite quick service in all WDW for both food and seating. You can't go wrong with Flame Tree Barbecue either.

I'm making note of all of these as well - so excited to hear the casual seating is plentiful and yummy! We're planning a spring 2022 trip so hopefully all of these will be back to normal!

Adding some other ideas.

MK) My family loved sleepy hollow. This isn’t a true meal per say but we made several brunches out of the corn dogs, Nutella and fruit waffle, and sweet & spicy chicken waffle sandwiches. They also have funnel cakes for deserts. Another option if you are taking break in day would be to head to wilderness lodge for geyeser Point. Very relaxing and great food.

AK) I would second the votes for satuli and flame tree.

HS) My wife and kids really liked woodys lunch box while I really enjoyed the ronto wraps at ronto roasters.

Epcot) If you go during festival snacking at the booths is great way to have a meal. For actual quick services I really enjoy Katsura grill for good food and nice relaxing place to eat (haven’t gone during covid)

Yum Sleepy Hollow sounds wonderful. And I'll make note of Katsura, Ronto and Woody's Lunch Box! Thank you!!

currently Harbor House is not open as it is being used as a CM break area

I have a two and three year old. My husband and I do the same, we order QS meals for ourselves and pack the kids food (One is very picky and I got tired of throwing away untouched $11 kids meals). Because you and your husband are ordering food you will be able to sit in the designated seating areas at QS restaurants. For example, you can not enter Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills or Woodys lunchbox unless you have a mobile order that is ready for pickup. A cm will check if your order is ready on a tablet then let you into the restaurant. It actually makes it easier to find a table since people aren’t just going in there for some ac. Being able to put your children into high chairs or just seat them at a table makes everything a little less crazy. No one will care or notice that they are eating food you packed.
For current times my QS recommendations are this:
MK= Pecos Bills indoor seating w/ ac
AK= honestly I always go to Yack & Yeti when I’m here.
Epcot= Regal Eagle. The America pavilion has plenty of seating. A lot of times we will grab food from kiosks like Italy and France and bring them here to eat. Then we will order a side of fries for the kids to eat along with their packed lunches.
HS= Woodys Lunch Box. It is outdoors so that’s a bummer but kids love the theming and the food is actually good. Any other QS I’ve had in HS has been awful.

Also, don’t forget about the baby care centers (I’m assuming you have a baby or at least small toddler). The older kids can sit at the tables inside and color or rest while they watch Disney movies. In a pinch I’ve taken the toddlers in the one at Epcot when it was pouring out. Much to my surprise they let us know the kids could eat their snacks in there as well while we waited for it to clear up. The cm’s who work in the baby care centers are so sweet and always welcoming.

We're adults and we sometimes bring our own lunches in, lol. As long as it's not a busy time (i.e., people are circling with trays waiting for a table to open up), I have no problem and have never run into any difficulty when using quick service seating to eat my own sandwich that I brought in. Since you are also purchasing meals for the adults, there 100% won't be a problem.

Be aware that during Covid time, there are also tables set up in places around the parks that never had them before, and are not associated with any particular restaurant. For instance, in the UK pavilion in Epcot, the streets are lined with tables.

Personally, I hope all those extra tables stick around!

Thanks for the recs and the tips about mobile order!

Oh I didn't even know about baby care centers! That sounds wonderful. Thank you!

Extra tables is always a good idea! Seating is important. I'm glad to hear that seating in those areas is relaxed. :)
