Quick service DP

you don't have to worry about the bill, well, except for your gratuities.

That (gratuity) is what killed the 2008 DDP value and experience for me.
On the 2007 and before DDP's I felt as though I was Mickey's personal guest, as I was treated well and did not have to worry about any part of the dinner bill. I know I would not be as "relaxed" using the 2008 DDP when I still had to pay gratiuty. (I understand removing appetizers that are really intended to be shared at a table, not consumed by one individual, but it is a crime that a personal salad or cup of soup is not included with an entre)

I haven't calculated doing it all OOP, but I plan to at some point before making a decision. The last time I took a group (in 2005), we had breakfast in the condo, and I gave everybody $25 a day for food/snacks beyond that. As best everyone recalls, it was just about right (and we had no TS meals at all.)

I hadn't really considered the children's menu question. As of now, they order chicken or peanut butter & jelly wherever we go anyway ;) It's conceivable that next year, at 3, 4 and 5, they might share an adult meal.

On the DDP, we absolutely would not use more than four TS credits, three of which would be for breakfast, so the DDP is out. The remaining options are QSDP or OOP. I'll have to think about that some more.

There is an additional ease, if you jsut tell a large group to use your credits on your room key.
Also, a possible option for your "extra" TS credits. At least in 2007, the MK Main Street Bakery (And the Boardwalk bakery) let you buy 2 or 3 giant cinnamon rolls + a bottle of juice as 1 TS credit. (Some QS locations only have "snacks" so they let you buy 2 snacks instead of the entree. I think the 3 snack deal is gone. 3rd snack used to = the desert)
The MK bakery will package the cinnamon rolls in a "to go" box, so you can pick those up as you are leaving the park the night before. (This summer, they brought out another plate of 'em when I did that, end of the night, so I do not think they usually run out. Warmed in the microwave in the AM, still really, really good!)

I just ran the numbers on doing it all OOP, and I think I'm now leaning toward no plan. Including a Garden Grocer order for our breakfasts in the villa, all CS meals (estimated at $10/A $5/C), snacks ($5/day/person) and four TS meals (CM, WCC, TH & CP) with DDE discount & tips included, my total is $1788, virtually the same as the QS plan

I like the convenience factor of a plan, obviously, but if it really isn't saving anything :confused3

I also didn't add the refillable mugs and probably wouldn't get one for everybody. Just because I use mine a lot doesn't mean anybody else will.

What I am going to do is stop stressing about it since it seems to be six of one and half dozen of the other. :goodvibes I go through this every trip!

Oops, I meant extra CS / Qucik service credits. You should be able to get 2 snacks instead of a CS option at a few select locations... (not Table service)

I don't know about other folks, but I know we'd get "CS burnout" if we ate nothing but CS meals every day for a week. (burp)

We love the DDP. My children are small and we eat a lot of CM. I think it actually saves us money.

I second that! One CS a day is plenty for us- how many bacon cheeseburgers and double cheeseburgers can we eat!

We also love the DDP! We get ADR's and plan all of the TS at 180 days out so we can get what we want, when we want. We also do the CMs- they are awesome. I've figured it out- it does save us $$. If your not a big planner or don't want to do a TS each night then it might not work. But for us- it's great!
