I posted some brief overviews of our ADRs on the Dining Reviews thread. Here are some random thoughts from our non-ADR eating.....
Looking for a filling snack and/or yummy treat in EPCOT? Sommerfest in Germany has gigantic pretzels and the pretzel bread pudding is delicious.
Two evenings in EPCOT we finished dinner not quite ready for dessert- so we mobile ordered treats from Karamell-Kuche to have at the resort later. Easy and no standing in line.
I carried silicone straws (bought a set that came with little pods to carry them in) for frozen drinks like Lefou’s Brew- much more pleasant than the paper straws or trying to drink frozen drinks without straws.
We had two meals at Satu’li canteen -great quick service options. Four of us constructed bowls both times (the fried tofu is awesome), one enjoyed the “all-beef hot dog wrapped in dough” kids' meal. Satu’li canteen was mobile order ONLY when we were there (I am not sure if that is ever not the case). I learned that refreshing works for mobile order. As we were getting close to our desired lunchtime, I realized that I should use “order food” on the my Disney Experience App to see if the available windows were immediate. The window that popped up was over an hour out! I refreshed a few times and, woo-hoo, an earlier window popped up. We sat inside both times, very pleasant. FYI CMs handle clearing the tables.
A couple of times I found that a QS kids’ meal was the way to go. For example:
A a small portion of the Pecos Bill rice & bean bowl was enough for me (and yummy), especially with the tomato, lettuce and salsa that came with it. I picked bags of apple slices for both of my sides, can be eaten now or later. Plus the kids meal comes with a small bottle of Dasani water- grab ice water at the counter and you can save the bottle for walking around the park. (We were big on grabbing cups of QS ice water, even at times when we weren’t ordering food.)
If Aloha Isle is swamped with people, mobile order takes forever. I can’t help but think they allow too many mobile orders in each time window. We ultimately canceled our order (the attendant at the mobile order line can do that). On our next MK day I finally got to enjoy a coconut cup (YUM!) by standing in a short line after a rainstorm passed through and people were just starting to come out from under cover.
We all agreed that the HS Backlot Express Wookie Cookie is a yummy treat.
