My family of four has the dining plan for our trip scheduled for this summer, and from the research I've done, it's been recommended that we place our quick-service orders on the app ahead of time, rather than wait in line at the physical locations. That sounds good to me, but I was wondering if the app will let me know which items on the menu will qualify? I guess having a charge listed at the end of order, rather than seeing $0.00, would be an indicator, but it seems like it would be better to just know what to put "in the cart" before getting to the check-out screen.

The Mobile Order menu will only have the items available to order ahead. It may be different from the menu that shows if you go into MDE and just look at a restaurant menu. Not everything is available for Mobile Order, so if you see something on the restaurant menu that is not on the Mobile Order menu, then you would have to stand in line to order it.

For example, I stay at value resorts a lot. They have had a few entrees for dinner that do not appear on the Mobile Order menu because they are rotated from day to day. I assume they are not available by Mobile Order because they might run out. I can get the entrees that are available every day, and the pizza, sandwiches, and most of the bakery items, but if I want the rotating entrees I have to go stand in line in person.

Yeah unfortunately you're going to have to just put the items in and see it zero out at the end but honestly anything at a quick service location will count as a quick service meal so no need to overthink it. When it becomes dicey is the delineation between meal and snack. Also if you drink alcoholic beverages don't forget to add those separately as they are included with the meals. I even ordered beers during breakfast because they were included and saved them for later.
