I knew I wanted at least a 3*, in the MCO area for our first night's stay. We did not land til 11:15 or so at night. And from what I could tell, all of the 3* in the MCO area, had a free shuttle.
I bit the bullet, bid $35 and waited.........
We got the Renaissance MCO. It was perfect.
We picked up our luggage from baggage claim, called the hotel on the courtesy phone right in baggage claim. The operator told me which parking space to go wait in, and the van was there in 5 mins!!! It was DH, DS, and myself, and one other gentleman going to a different Marriot property, and a UPS employee heading over there.
We got to the hotel, checked right in, no problems, no waits. We were in our room, and in bed before midnight!!
In the morning, DH got up, showered, and took the shuttle back to the airport to rent our car. DS and I got ready, and explored a little. DH was back within 45 minutes or so, and we were OFF!
All in all, it was a fine experience, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. You just have to do all your research first, so that there are NO surprises.
