Quick question on upgrading your hotel package

We've got flights sorted and I need to book hotel, but can't decide which one, if I book Cheyenne for Jan now (whilst the free dining offer is on), we'll need to pay the balance in Nov, not a problem.
If we decide in say Dec that we want to upgrade to another hotel, would they honour the original booking's offers ?

I doubt it - because the free dining offer is only on until 15th November. I'd think they would happily do it though, if you upgraded by 15th November, and the higher-priced hotel still had the free dining available for your dates.

I need to think long and hard about this then.
I had promised DS and myself a stay at HNY, now with one thing and another not least £520 to pay out on school trips before end of October, HNY might be stretching the finances a bit too far, I'll get paid on the 19th of the month in Nov and on my dates, my calculations, the DLP balance would be due on the 18th, latest.
I was hoping I'd found a way around it.
Might ring and ask them anyway.

it depends if they allow changes after that point as they may treat it as a cancellation depending on how close it is to departure. I would have a read of the booking conditions.

I think for the sake of a day, i'd say you'd be fine booking the NY.

Many people have commented that Disney haven't taken the final payment on the exact day they're meant to. And even if they did - they would contact you to say that they never got your payment, and ask you to pay, which would take a day or two anyway.

I've never heard of a holiday being automatically cancelled either by Disney or a travel agent. I would think that they would always call you to give you the opportunity to pay. Mistakes happen all the time, with expired card dates etc.

I suppose because you know you'll not be able to pay on a specific date it feels a bit different, but I really don't think you'll have a problem.

you definately wont be able to upgrade with the same offer once it is no longer available. they wont be able to add the free food to your booking after nov 15th and from the cheyenne to the hny you are going from standard to plus in any case.

Thanks for all the input, think we'll book Cheyenne and stay 4 nights instead of 3, I know DS will choose a longer stay over a posher hotel and if I've any spare cash surprise my niece with the Auberge de Cendrillon princess meal, can it be added to the package and paid for beforehand ?

would be great if we bump into you, I can't wait to stay there again, it was where we stayed on our first trip so I am very excited. I have always popped into the bar there even if we are not staying there.
