I wholeheartedly second what Colleen said. I own 200 pts. at BCV and have never stayed there because BWV is my favorite (BWI is where we stayed pre-DVC). We did a 100 pt add-on at BWV to accomodate the "impossible to get anything but your home resort" times and it's worked out so far. But if I had to do it all over again, I would have all my points at BWV! Good luck!!

Rick - if you choose monthly debit for dues, there are no interest charges. Although we could pay ours in a lump sum, I like the ability to budget for it monthly.

We have 200 points at VB and currently pay $77.81 a month(debited to our checking account)

Hi Rick, I was just updating my charts on how expensive these things are. There are a lot of possible pittfalls when buying aftermarket.....Again, I have a spreadsheet I will be happy to supply you with...

Closing costs... Disney Pays, they usually run $500-$1000
Owed Dues...Make sure the seller is current
Borrowed Points...Make sure the seller hasn't used the existing points fore NEXT year...

These are the big ones that can really cost you.

Happy bday to you both.
If I'm not mistaken, you will be visiting WDW soon, correct? Why not decide after that visit where you want to be your "home" resort? Please check out SSR I too had reservations about buying into there I love the BW and OKW. After seeing SSR I am SO happy we bought there. I too didn't like the old Disney institute and Tree house villa areas. SSR seems much much nicer in my opinion.

Member services can make Ps's, so you can use the 800# except when you have to call outside of regular hours.....
