We are off to the party tonight. Can anyone confirm we can go into the park in costume at 4pm ?? Or do we have to change closer to the official 7pm starting time??

Thanks xxxxxx

Yes, you can enter (in costume) beginning at 4pm.

So sorry to report back we had a less than magical night and I was so disappointed that I mentioned it when collecting allergy free candy for my dd and the cm was equally appalled at how our night had progressed and issued complimentary tickets for Fridays party fingers crossed it works out better and the park staff have got their act together after the shambles of last night , I was talking to another lady this evening who also felt last nights party was far from her expectations of Disney so I guess it wasn't just us !!

What went wrong for you Louise?

I looked out for you but never saw you.

Only thing I found dissapointing were the long lines to get character photos!

Tim I think we were in the wrong place at the wrong time constantly but here is my main issues with last night.

1. After the fireworks cms blocked adventureland and frontierland bridges for an eternity for no apparent reason this resulted in a crush forming and still cms stood strong on no access and kept shouting at ppl to move right when there was nowhere to move too - seriously we were scared at I had Keira in a pushchair dan on my shoulders and Wayne had picked up cam who was struggling!! We lost ben completely as the scrum of ppl had moved him so far right he was stuck between the rope and ppl

2. Character lines - no management of lines at all and all cms seriously needed a happy pill!!

3. The fireworks seriously dissapointed the right hand side of the castle did not have any fireworks until right at the end - possibly a tech issue???? But defiantly not a WOW display!

4. The parade and guests seriously walking on the kids who were sat at the front we asked a cm for help at one point to ask them to move back and he said we could always leave if crowds were a problem!! We then told them to back off nicely but after a further couple of minutes I was ready to kill when one guy seriously sat his toddler on camerons lap!!

5. Lastly I found the allergy free option of raisins poor as we were told Keira would be given a choice of nOn food options!!

There you go rant over but defiantly not a good night especially as we left the park with a child in full meltdown and still people wouldn't mo e the hell out of the way!!!

We also went to last night (Tuesday) party.

We managed to do a lot during the evening, but WOW!! Was that place PACKED! :scared1: Honestly, it was the worst we have seen MK in a week! Last year we literally walked through lines for rides and candy trails and strolled up to the parade with spaces right in front literally minutes before the parade started.

I didn't feel it was badly organized at all, but it certainly was busy and for anyone who had been expecting 'walk on' and 'walk through' anything, it was a bit of a shock.

The fireworks didn't seem any different to last year. We have another party coming up next week though so we didn't stick around to watch them (as in, we never staked out a spot for it, but rather saw them from Fantasyland while we went through photo lines).

Last night we managed to meet the 7 Dwarves by 7.30 pm, do several Trick or Treat Trails, met Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and a few others, stopped at one of the dance parties, got all the Photopass Magic shots, rode Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and others several times and had something to eat.

I think any challenges for guests last night boiled down to the high crowd levels. It was crazy busy!

I agree the crowds were massive but I think the management of the crowds were so poor it didn't help! I know if you watch fireworks from the hub you have to expect a crowd when moving away but I have never experienced the bridges not being opened straight away and even the guy in customer relations said it should have been opened to allow crowds to disperse. Personally I think there were far too many people in MK to make the party enjoyable! Just my opinion but after talking to others there are many that were hugely dissapointed this year, let's see what tommorow brings as we plan to not see fireworks !!

sorry you had a disappointing time!!

that was very nice of the CM to give you return tickets!!!

I agree as I didn't go in to complain I went in to collect my daughters candy. He asked if we had had fun and I couldn't stand there and say honestly that we had, it's not disneys fault we have an autistic child with us and he was in meltdown but I do think they learnt a lot from tues party and possibly it was the first one that was so busy. I expected crowds but not anything like what we saw, I never asked for anything from guest relations I just told him why we had been disappointed he then offered a return visit so they could have the chance to try again!

I hope Fridays is better and we too can say we enjoyed the Halloween party xxxxxx

We went last Friday and didn't find the queues too bad except for the candy lines, could have been that universals horror nights started that night the crowds weren't too bad. We were caught up in the crush on the hub after the fireworks but managed to get out ok. My theory is that the number of tickets on sale for this event is the same as in previous years although Toontown Fair is closed off for redevelopment thus making the rest of the park vbusy on some nights.

It could have been due to the HHN but honestly, the Tuesday party this week was INSANELY busy!! We had a great time and also had the advantage of having been to one before. Add to that, there are only two of us and navigating crowds as a party of two is much easier than trying to keep hold of a larger family. But yes, in case anyone is questioning how busy it was .... it was MAD! We have another one booked for Sunday and I am hoping it will be more like the one we attended last year (which had also been a Tuesday) where we just walked up to the kerb for the parade 10 minutes before and there were no substantial lines for anything except the Dwarves, Carriage/Hitchhiking Ghost Photopass shots and a few of the more rare characters. Here's wishing :wizard:

We have seen the parks at their quietest ever this trip. Yes, there do appear to be crowds, probably to do with free dining, but we are rope drop people and have pretty much walked on to everything multiple times the entire trip right up to lunch time, at which point we start using the FP's we have been collecting all morning on our way to the Standby lines. So it was a surprise to see the park so busy for the party. But then again, I have met so many DISers this trip and by Monday evening it seemed like the whole of the DISboards would be attending Tuesday's party  so I had a feeling it was going to be busy.

I was at the Tuesday one as well and also found it busy - the lines for some of the characters were just stupid - dwarves and Jack Sparrow seemed the worse.
I managed to get across from Tomorrowland to Frontierland after the fireworks and got a great spot to watch the parade. Worse thing I found was folks sitting down after the fireworks in the middle of the hub in front of the castle to stake their spot for the parade!
It was certainly more crowded than the MCMCP I did a few years ago!

i just remembered - for all of you going to the halloween party -

the very first time i ever visited WDW was way back in 1974 when i was in university..
my best friend at university and i drove down to orlando - we camped out in FW (in a tent)..

anyway....her daughter, who's a dancer, is on the college program at WDW right now..

she's one of the dancers in the halloween parade - one of the dead waltzers....

she's a beautiful brunette (though i don't know what makeup they have on to be a dead waltzer)......

wave to her for me!! :goodvibes :goodvibes
