I cant remember....to be eligible for the free dining, do I need to buy a ticket/room package, or can I get it with just room. It would make sense that you would need to purchase the package, but then I remember they base your credits on how many nights you stay, so it threw me....Thanks!!

For FREE dining everyone must purchase at least a 2 day MYW base ticket.

Thanks, I figured that! I guess I'll just have to let the dirt cheap park tickets I just found on craigslist go....

Probably just as well...there's a reason they are so cheap. You don't want to be stuck with tickets that aren't any good. There are a few reputable discount ticket sellers out there--the discounts are okay, but never dirt cheap!

My understanding is that you need to purchase at least a 1 day ticket-I would call WDW and explain the situation and go from there. We were debating buying the tix through my DH's work but spoke to the CM on the phone who went through a lot of $$$ scenarios with us to come up with a plan that worked for us.

1 day tickets to purchase dining plan, 2 day tickets for free dining.

Right, plus you have to pay rack rate for the room and buy that $99.00 Memory book to get free dining.

AP holders (paying rack rate or using an AP discount), people staying on DVC points, and some of the military deals are the only ways to buy the DDP without having to buy park tickets. To get free dining even we have to pay rack rate and buy at least two day park tickets. If we use any of the other pkg deals (bounceback, kids stay free, pay for 4 get 3 nights free, GP discounts, etc) we have to buy one day park tickets in order to buy the DDP too.
