:D I know this is kind of a silly question but how do you cook cabbage? I have a head of cabbage I am going to make for dinner and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to steam it, boil it, break it up, leave as a head, or what. Thanks in advance to anyone who can solve this great mystery for me  .

and boil it until tender. Or chop it up and make cole slaw.

Be sure to turn on the fan and open windows - It STINKS!!:teeth:

Can't help ya.... the only cabbage eaters around here are my two rabbits!

:teeth: Very true, and I'm feeling a little bit guilty since no one else will eat it and they will be making comments about the "smell". I'm still making it for myself, though  .

yup....boil the heck out of it...then scoop onto a plate...top with a little vinegar.

it's definitely an acquired taste.

I do cabbage around march......for corn beef and cabbage and I have to open the house up......it stinks to high heavens.....but tastes sooooo good

better and my opinion tastes better too!

Shred cabbage (or slice thinly) and saute it with a bit of oil and water in the bottom of a frying pan....don't let it get too wilty. Add butter and caraway seeds, salt and pepper.

Much better than boiling the heck outta it....

I was going to suggest stir frying it as well. I don't use caraway seeds though. I like to use a little bit of seasoned salt.
