Quick. Need input on SIMS Superstar.

I do not play these games and neither does 9yo dd. Her friend just came over and brought it and wants to play. My initial reaction is to say no but is it that bad? I have a few minutes since I sent them to the pool first, but i am sure they want to play when they get out. Actually the friend wants to play. DD has no interest in games but will play if her friend wants to.

I really cannot decide that for you. Sims is a game where you create pretend people, build and decorate houses for them, and have them interact with each other. They can form families, fight with each other, have jobs, swim in swimming pools, play with the stereo and tv.

I've never played Sims Superstar so I really cannot comment on that particular version -- but I've played plenty of Sims games. It is a very benign game that kids and adults become absolutely enthralled playing. It is absolutely one of my favorite games.

I think the only thing to be aware of is that most kids have their SIMS do things together that perhaps are very similar to what our generation did with the Kens and Barbies. At 9 years old, your kids are probably not going to do that -- yet.

If you are that apprehensive, I would suggest staying in the room while they play.

Well first of all to play superstar you have to have the original version of sims installed on your computer, superstar is an expansion pack. Most of the sims is o.k. you can build houses and create people, but the reason it has a T for teen rating is that You can make you sims kiss and "woohoo".

Unless you have The Sims on your computer, Superstar will not run. There is some mild sexual content, but nothing full out. It's all pixilated. I started to get into the game in I belive 2001, so I was 14. But, the Sims is VERY addicting
