Quick Ipod memory question

How much memory would you get in an ipod for a 10 year old. 8 or 32 are my choices. Thanks!

My DS6 and DD9 both have 32 gb on their iPods.

32, 8 is not enough because the iOS eats up a couple MB. I have 16MB on my iPhone and it's more than enough (I have a bunch of apps and several hundred songs plus pics and use about 10 - 12 MB), but I also don't run any movies on my phone.
