ok so i have found some flights at a price i like and from manchester!!

they are with budget air via delta

however the time between the 2 flighst is only 90 mins on the way in and 60 mins on the return home

whats happens if we miss the connection?/ do we have to rebuy the other flight to get us home ?? are they too small times to bother ??

the total price is 2274 for 2 adults and 3 kids !! best i have seen from manchester and the exact dates i want ??

I can't help you, but just want to ask what time of year they were for?

We are going hopefully if we save up enough in Aug 2014 and it sounds a great deal, hope someone can help you :thumbsup2

They can't sell you a flight without connection times they think you'll make.

If your first flight is delayed, they'll put you on the next available connecting flight.

Depending on which airports you're connecting through, I might risk it. Maybe not with kids though....I guess you'd care about sitting together as a family etc., plus it's a lot easier to squeeze 1 or 2 people onto a flight than 5!

I've done a 90 minute connection a couple of times on the outward leg - once no problem, once I had to sprint (literally) and wouldn't have made it had the second flight itself not been delayed.

If you have bags and children to be dealing with, I'd look for a minimum of 2 hour connection times each way.

it wasnt so much the 90 min one but the 60 min on the return flight

if we could manage with no checked bags and only had hand luggage would u say its possible??

Atlanta should be OK, they opened their new International terminal this year which has supposed to have improved their times, it was a nightmare before.

I had friends who tried the 90 min outbound connection and missed it, they were put on standby for the next flight an hour later but guaranteed the flight 2 hours later, they got then on the next one but had to go economy instead of business they had booked.

You should have no problem at all with the 60 min home its the 90 min outbound that could be tight.

I've had a 90 minute connection on the way out in Detroit and it was absolutely fine, more then enough time. We were even at the back of the immigration queue, had problems with picking out baggage up and still had more the enough time to pop to the loo, look round the shops and sat down at the gate before the flight was officially called.

I do think 60 minutes on the way back is a bit tight but your baggage is checked through all the way back so you won't have to worry about that?

Went thru Tingley yesterday, past Tingley Tropicals, my Son commented about it, wondered if George still owned it. Used to go there years ago.

Live just past Tingley Tropicals :). Never been in so couldn't comment if he's still there but looks the same as it did 13 years ago when we moved here, so he may still be there. Let me know when you're next passing through and I'll put the kettle on :)

We are always going past. DMIL lives near Asda in Morley, DW works near White Rose and we have friends in Rothwell so Tingley roundabout gets well used by us.:goodvibes

Lol. Hope they sell out x Have a brilliant trip x My Mum has a couple of friends who live in Thornhill. Safe journey x

Next to nothing left thankfully. Should be away soon, just trying to tidy up a bit.
They probably know me if they live in Thornhill, lived and had shop here 22 years so most know me.

im almost in wakefield centre just at newton hill , but also im always in tingley at country baskets lol and i have been in the tropical fish shop but i dont know who owns it

im not too bothered if we end up missing the connection as long as we dont have to pay to get another flight lol

I'm sure it will be fine, the worst that can happen is u miss it and get the next available one. Hello from Wrenthorpe, Wakefield.

I timed our connection home via Chicago last night, from touchdown (2 mins early) to getting to the gate from Manchester flight was exactly 20 mins, included 6 mins at McD's getting a McFlurry. 60 mins is loads for a return connection, allows for a slight delay.
