We have decided to stay in tonight.... so I was going to make a few dips and sit around and drink some wine and eat some dips.... but I was wondering if we should have dinner too.... so what should we do.... Can you please share your favorite dips and if you are staying tonight what is on the menu... Thanks and Happy New Year to all.....

We just have munchies! We will be having pretzel bites with cheese, nachos, mozzarella sticks, mini pizzas, etc. For dessert - chocolate fondue with bananas, strawberries, pretzels, etc.

If my husband wasn't insistent upon cooking a meal for us and our friends tonight (chicken parm), I was going to suggest heavy appetizers: buffalo chicken dip, brushetta, cheese sticks with marinara, etc. You know....something to sop up all the wine!!! :lmao:

We're staying in. We're doing it pretty simply tonight. Here's the menu:

Cheese fondue with carrots, celery, cauliflower, apples, and bread dippers

Chocolate fondue with marshmallows, pound cake, cookies, graham crackers, strawberry, and banana dippers

Spinach dip and tortilla chips

Bagel bites (the pizza bagel things)

Chips and pretzels

Cookies and candies left over from Christmas

Pickles and olives

And whatever else I dig out of the cabinets. LOL

We are staying in tonight also. We were going to grill some poterhouse steaks but we are in the middle of a snowstorm and grilling in the snow does not appeal to me. So I am going to make spicy chicken alfredo (yum) and for snacks I have chips, pretzels, onion dip, horseradish chedder and crackers, shrimp cocktail and buffalo chicken rangoon. The rangoons are new to us. Saw them in the freezer section when I was grocery shopping and thought we'd give them a try. Now that I look at my post I think I need to scale back on the snacks. That's WAY TOO MUCH food!

I love the Pampered Chef pizza dip recipe:

1 block of cream cheese, room temperature
1 tsp Pantry Italian seasoning mix (I've used a combo of dried basil and oregano )
1 cup shredded mozzarella
3/4 cup grated parmesan
1 jar pizza sauce
1/4 cup diced green pepper, green onions,or chopped black olives

Preheat oven to 350. Combine cream cheese w/italian seasonings and spread onto bottom of small oven proof bakin dish. Combine mozzarella and parmesan. Sprinkle half on top of cream cheese mixture. Pour pizza sauce over and spread evenly. Top with remaining cheeze mixture. Bake 15-20 minutes, and sprinkle with chopped toppings. Serve warm with toasted baguette slices.
