Here's the deal, I have to attend an all day convention at the DL hotel on a Saturday. The group has mad reservations at the Camelot Inn on Harbor. 7 people per suite! OMG, I am NOT sleeping with 7 strangers!!!!! Can anyone tell me if this is an OK place or will I be better off driving myself and staying elsewhere (HoJos perhaps)? I need to make the decision by next Friday. ANd the Camelot website is not responding at all.

Thanks all you DL experts!

It's close to the parks... that's always a good thing. I've only seen it from the outside, so I don't have the personal experience you're probably looking for. Most recent reviews on trip advisor look positive though.

I think it would probably be easiest to stay where the rest of the group is, especially if you think you might be going to/from the convention, dinner, drinks, etc. together. (maybe even the parks?) ;)

But I don't blame you for not wanting to bunk in with strangers. I'd be for getting my own room too!

FWIW,
HOJO is probably about a mile down the street from Camelot Inn.

Ooooh, thanks for the review info. I will probably stay there for the night, but I am getting my own roo, Imagine 7 Tupperware ladies in a suite with one bathroom? No thanks, I don't even like to share with my husband.

I will be meeting a friend who just move to LA for park time, the people that are going, well 3 of them were at my house last night, they have NO CLUE about DL or WDW. My touring guide days are over, they can go on thier own. I want to maximize my one day with someone who knows Disney as well as I do.

Thanks again!

You are very much mistaken ~ a mile, try 3 maybe 4 minutes at a leisurely pace. OP best of luck finding a place of your own, I don't blame you at all, have you tried calling the Camelot directly? HoJo's is lovely ~ I enjoy staying there.

Oops, I thougt 1.18 miles sounded too far. I must have transposed a number. It's actually closer to 1/4 of a mile, as per mapquest.

Of course I'm never sure of distances around Disney. I swear the walk back to the Pumba lot after a long day is often much longer than the walk to the park in the morning. They must stretch the sidewalks at night. ;)

I did get them on the phone and got a room. I just can't picture myself sharing a room with 6 people I may not have ever met, to say nothing of the bathroom! I bathroom, 7 women...................

I stayed in the Fairfied Inn the firrt time I went to DL and it was an easy walk. It's only one night, so I think it will be OK. And I can always post a review here when I get back in case someone else wants the info.

That long parking lot walk? It's the same everywhere. I can go all day in the parks, but when it's time to get to the bus stop or out to the parking lot, I am sooooooooooooooooo tired!

Thanks for all your help!
