Hi!

How bad does the noise from the Chef Mickey's Concourse travel up to the rooms? Is it noisy or does it fade? Will they even notice once they are in the room?

Thanks, Wendi

I stayed in the Comptemporary towers in 2001. The noise was noticiable but not annoying. It was similiar to people talking outside because of the size of the concourse. The noise from the monorail was also noticiable but not anything that will ruin your trip. Don't worry have fun because the sound of kids singing the "napkin song"(you'll see for your self) will be uplifiting and reassure you you woke up in Disney World!

We just returned from a 5-night stay at the Contemporary (April 2003), and 3 of those nights were in the Tower. We were on the 10th floor, on the side above where the shops are (Chef Mickey's is on the other side of the large 4th floor "lobby"), on the Magic Kingdom side. We NEVER heard any noise that bothered us -- so, I think it may depend on how high up you are AND if you are on the side right above the restaurant or not. We are very, very light sleepers -- on our first two nights, which were spent in the North Garden Wing, we got no sleep at all. The noise of people coming back to their rooms at all hours of the night prevented us from getting any sleep. (I do not know this to be a fact, but we guessed that the wings were added later, and that the construction quality of the wings is well below the quality of the Tower. The Tower was great -- no complaints. In the wing we also heard every footstep taken on the floor above us, and all the room noise from the rooms on either side of us AND across the hall.)

We plan to stay in the Tower again in the future, but will never stay in either one of the wings again.

Finally, if you are concerned about noise, mention it when you check in and I'm sure they will do their best for you. I'd recommend asking for a higher floor, on the shop side....

Hey Wendi,
We just got back from an April stay at the CR also. We were on the 11th floor on the Chef Mickey side. We enjoyed seeing all the commotion going on down below as we were going to and from our room. Our 4 yr old had learned the song they sing- Celebrate- when they wave their napkins without even eating there once. We didnt notice the noise in our room. It never bothered us while we were there- maybe we are just a little on the hard of hearing side? Just kidding- we really didnt have a problem with noise from the Grand Concourse, but we did have a problem with our above floor neighbors on the 12th floor. One night there was so much noise from above that we decided the kids must be jumping from bed to bed or bed to floor. It was very late and finally after hearing this for about 45 mins and after 11pm my husband called the front desk to complain and see what we should do. With it being the 12th floor above us and needing a special room key to access the floor from the elevator we felt stuck. The front desk was very helpful and said that they would take care of it. We dont know if they made a phone call to the room, or if someone from conceirge went to the room, but within about 3 mins all the noise stopped. Thankfully, but at 6:30 am it started again. It was incredibly loud- lots of jumping. We decided if it happened again we would need to talk to a manager, but thank goodness it didnt.

We just returned from the CR . Guess what, our room was also on the 11th floor, and we heard the thundering herd from above too. We must have been neighbors! While we did hear the singing from Chef Mickey's it was neither loud or disturbing.
It was actually quite nice to hear happy voices in the morning!
:D

We've stayed in the tower several times and never heard any noise from the concourse in our room. It was great!

Thank You so much for all the information. I know that they will have a great time. After all, they are at Disney. I appreciate the input and will pass it on to them to put any worries to rest.
Thank You,
Wendi
