Sister-in-law just called me from inside the park needing a hotel near Cedar Point in OH. Need a decent place not too expensive. Thank you all in advance. I know my fellow Disers won't let me down.

I would say to stay at the Breakers Express -- it is owned by Cedar point, but is their least expensive property, just outside the gates. STAY AWAY from the Howard Johnsons nearby -- the most disgusting, dirty place I have ever seen.

Maybe you can go online to Travelocity, Priceline, or something and see if you can get her a last minute deal.

The breakers is really nice. There is also Sandcastle suites and Light house point. Lighthouse Point is located in their campground and rents cabins. They look really nice.

We stayed at the same HOJO and have not gone back to Sandusky or Cedar Point since then, it was a complete embarassment for $140 a night.

The onsite hotels are likely upwards of $150.

what about the radisson or if they don't mind a bit farther from CP, Sawmill Creek. I would think Sawmill would be comparable, price-wise, to staying at CP.

We stayed at the King's Inn. We called and the rates were cheaper - around $60ish dollars. It was ok - clean and we had a free continental breakfast in the morning. Was less than a 15 min drive. There are places much closer - this was on the outer edge of the really close places. But it was really cheap and worked for us

We stayed at Maples Motel east of Cedar Point. Its a little mom and pop motel and you can't beat the prices!!!! The only draw back was it was by a train track. I took a tylenol pm and slept through the trains but that wasn't the case for the kids. Oh well. I'd rather spend less than $100 for a room than pay the expensive room rates for the inside hotels at Cedar Point but that's just my opinion. Hope this helps!
