Quick! Catch 'em before they spill!PAGE3 THE WRENCH

That was amazing! I couldn't stop grinning while I watched it! I love when they ultimately figure it out and they all jump up and start running around. Pure joy!

Wow!!! Great video! The kids were priceless! That is so funny about your DH's surpize suggestion...such a guy! However, that is pretty much how DBF spilled the beans to our kids. Have you been to FW before? I love that you have the trailer. We are HUGE campers...tent campers, however. I'd love to get a trailer and drive it down to WDW...the original thought for this trip was to rent an RV with my brother's family and drive down, from Mass for Thanksgiving...we would have been there for the same dates, that you have planned. Funny how much things change in a year!!! Sorry to hear about your SIL...I hope she is doing well and hope that your parents are able to join you! Cant imagine a better way to spend the holiday season...Disney, Christmas, and camping...pure heaven!!!:cloud9:

The video is absolutely priceless!!! The kids reaction was perfect. It totally made me smile! :teeth: What a great way to surprise them!!!

Yes, we have been to Fort Wilderness one other time. If your family really enjoys camping/campground activites, you will LOVE the Fort. The most stellar campground in the country, hands down! And, that's not a boast, Fort Wilderness is consistantly rated as one of the top five campgrounds in the country. The campers there will go all out and have the Fort decorated for the holidays. Golf carts rented though Disney are REALLY expensive but, if you are intersted, there are MUCH cheaper options. The Fort is really big, it's something like two miles long as the crow flies. Let me know if you would like info on golf carts as you don't have to rent them for your length of stay but ours was only $200 for the week.

Thank you! I have to admit, I've probabably rewatched that video ten times already!

Two things I forgot to mention...my youngest DD is a cheerleader...so funny, that you mention "not the sisboombah kind." OMG...that is the craziest sport ever! My DD was diagnosed with mono in August and that put a quick end to her cheering season. Her squad has a competition this Sunday and that is the end of the season...her coaches would have FLIPPED OUT if she had left on a vacation prior to a competition. I totally get the flying home early thing, for practice. I also forgot to mention that in your video, I thought it was SOOOOO cute that your kids said "Can we take the dog?" That is something my kids would ask...and I would actually have to consider that! WE are the ones who have separation anxiety when we leave the dog. I thought I heard someone call your dog Bella...is that her name? That is our dog's name! CRAZY!

Yes, I would love the name of the place that you got your golf cart. I priced some last night...a 6 seater...$300+ for the week. Your's sounds like a much better deal! We did the Backyard BBQ in 2010...so, I know that it is HUGE! However, the more I read about FW the more excited I get!

That is our dog's name, Bella. More commonly referred to as just Belle, but yes... small world, huh? And to point out another "small world" comment, our daughters are close enough in age that they are probably competing at about the same level. Our organization seperates our "football" cheer season and our competition cheer season. Football ends here on November 17th and our first competition is January 5th, so I understand why they really want her to miss as few practices as possible.

We are getting our golf cart from Kenny at Tee Time cart rentals. I forgot about you needing a six seater so that makes a big difference. Kenny may rent you a cart for just a partial stay if it helps keep your cost down. The carts are just so nice to have but a luxury, not a neccessity.

okay, I'm off to visit your pretrip to see if you have ironed out any details!

Looks like the scavenger hunt was a huge success!! I love it, you did an awesome job :goodvibes

Well, I can never leave well enough alone and apparently I like change as much as I like over planning and over packing!

So, let me try this itinerary thing again.

Saturday the 24th, we will arrive, unpack etc and wait for my DB and his family to arrive. That evening, a dear friend that moved to Florida about 8 months ago is going to come and visit for dinner. I cant wait to see her!

Sunday the 25th, we are up early for a breakfast at WCC at 8:30 for all nine of us. We will then head to MK for the day. As MK is a must 1st park for me. Im pretty sure my DB and his family will head to MK as well but its every man for him self!
I think we will do dinner together this evening as well so its grilled steaks of lasagna for dinner.

Monday is AK in the morning and Epcot in the afternoon, I hope this works and will need to check my Touring Plans again to make sure I havent shot myself in the foot with this park change. Hopefully, we make it to see Illuminations this evening.

Tuesday is HS in the morning and we will just go as long as we can. Maybe a CS lunch somewhere. But, TSM is a must do for us so we need to be there
early enough. We may leave around lunch time, go back to the resort for a break and a meal and then come back in the evening for Osborne Lights.

Wednesday is Epcot in the morning until around 1 or so. We will take the kids back to the resort so that our kids and DBs kids will be together when the sitter arrives. The adults will then head back to Epcot for a 5PM ADR at Le Cellier! So excited for this as I have never been able to get reservations there before!

Thursday finds us at AK in the morning again with a reservation for lunch at Rainforest Café (it was the kids pick, what was I supposed to do?) And MK for the ......

WAIT!!! That wont work! MVMCP will be that evening...

Must rework the plan. to be continued

Okay, maybe someone can help...

These are the MUSTS in the it inerary...

Sunday, WCC ADR @ 8:30 and then straight to MK for at least the morning.
Monday can be anything
Tuesday can be anything
Wednesday can anything in the morning but we an ADR for LeCellier @ 5PM for just the adults
Thursday can be anything as my ADR at Rainforest can be changed

We must see Wishes at least once and Osborne Lights at least once.
We must make it to DHS studios in the morning at least once for TSM and to Epcot at least one morning for Soarin'

Any suggestions out there? We won't really be touring with DB's family with the exception of that first stroll down Main Street and our dinner out on Wednesday. We don't leave until Saturday but my DD has to leave Friday around noon so I want us to have all of those must do's with her. Friday will be the boy's choice in the afternoon.

The more I read your posts...the more Im convinced that traveling your way is the way I'd like to do Disney! So relaxed...you can plan for steak on the grill...make a lasagna. I keep telling my kids about your posts and they keep saying "Mom, why can't we do that??" I think after this trip and the holidays I'll be looking into that!
Your plans look great! My favorite part is Monday...Tuesday...can be anything! I will admit I have Le Cellier-envy! That is a great ressie. Love WCC...we're having our first meal there when we arrive...too funny!! The last time we ate there, our waitress sounded exactly like Gloria on Modern Family...she was HILARIOUS!
Only 10 more days for you!!!!!:cheer2:

If you are really intersted, try looking at Moore Camper Rentals... you can do a family of five a little cheaper than the cabins that way... But, YAY! for steak and lasagna as those are the two specific meals we have set... did I mention that earlier or do we just like to eat alike as well?

We'd probably look into purchasing one and driving it down to WDW. We also camp every summer...Christmas in July...in a tent; an RV would be a nice upgrade! Our food planning is the most important part of all the planning. We have cooked up some pretty amazing things out in the wilderness. Other campers have food envy!:rotfl: So,the steak and lasagna thing you did mention...but, it must have caught my eye because we LOVE to eat!!:cloud9:

It's a world of change once again... Unable to solve our "where and when" dilemma, I have been stalking Disney's site again and snagged a better Le Cellier reservation... so now

Sunday AM is WCC for breakfast with the whole gang and then off to MK
Monday AM is DHS until about 2ish then back to drop off the kids with KidsNiteOut and dinner at Le Cellier for just the adults
Tuesday AM is AK and back to the resort to be lazy. Epcot in the evening for fireworks.
Wednesday is Epcot for as long as we last and then a break and then MK for wishes if we missed it on Sunday.
Thursday is AK in the AM, lunch at Rainforest and then MK or wherever the kids want to go!

What time is your new ressie?? Any time is GREAT for Le Cellier!:thumbsup2

Isn't it funny but cooking while camping doesn't seem to be as much work..:confused3 Don't know why but it never bothers me... Cooking at home is a drag. My kids joke constantly that they would rather have "camping dinners". And yes, I always spend more time planning our meals than anything else when we're camping.

Well Dissers, I'm the next thing to demolished. My DH was told at work yesterday that no one would be allowed any time off between now and New Years. Dh told me not to worry, surely he could explain about our trip (which he had approval for) and an exception would be made. This evening he came home after having met with the "big boss" and was told no exceptions would be made.

I'm a little stunned. How can this truly be happening? We've been waiting five long years! Everything is paid for, everything is planned... If we hadn't told the kids, I could live with it but...

I'm seriously praying for some pixie to save our vacation.... I wouldn't be opposed to you sending some pixie dust too.

OMG! How can this happen??? I'm SO, SO sorry to hear this!!! There HAS to be an exception...I will absolutely sending prayers and pixie dust your way!pixiedust: I am so sad for you and your family!:sad1: Please keep us posted.

I saw on the other thread you made that you have successfully rescheduled your trip, and that your parents can now join you! I'm so happy you were able to alter your plans and save the vacation. It's awful that your husbands boss did something so inconsiderate, but I'm sure your trip will be absolutely wonderful when you do get to go on it. Hey, February isn't all that far off! Time will fly!

So, it's a whole new trip! The last few days have been filled with such emotional ups and downs. We don't have all the details ironed out but I'll go with what I know...

I know DH's boss is a jerk..;)

I know we are going to Disney on February 24th through March 4th!
We really had no choice regarding the dates. My DD is a competition cheerleader and her comp schedule is tight. The have Reach the Beach Nationals that will end Saturday the 23rd and then the squad gets a one week break before they start practice 3 times a week again. She isn't finished until May 5th and Disney will be hot  So, that's when we'll go!

Breaking the news to the kids was just awful but, they did okay. And they asked to be surprised again! :confused3
They only know that we are going to Disney sometime during this school year.

I have a lot of details to work out and planning to do... I'm slowly coming around to the idea

Side note: so I was explaining my clue gathering plan to my husband last night and asked him what he thought of my scheme... because we are so very different and proof that opposites can attract, he says... deadpan... "why don't we just sit them down on the couch and say, we're going to Disney on Thanksgiving day... Merry freakin' Christmas" :confused3 really? That's what he's gonna run with?

BORING! just sayin'
LOL!!! :rotfl2: Finally reading your pretrip report and thought this was really great!!!
